That's quite possibly true. More likely they think because their lanuage doesn't have any accents then the rest of the world are wrong in using them!

Not really, North. All actors and crew have as part of the contract how they are to be billed on a given film. So if Jose wants to be billed as José, it is a simple matter.

Well, yes, as for instance ol' Jürgen Prochnow and Tchéky Karyo are both mainly credited (correctly) as such in both their 'foreign' films and US ones...
