Another Mac converter-in-progress.

I just learned about Wineskin the other day.  With very few hiccups I managed to install that software, create the wrapper, install DVDP and restore my last backup and layout.  It was great... until!

While adapting the layout from what worked on my laptop to what will work on my HDTV, the program became mostly unresponsive.  I was still able to access the menus so after trying a few things without luck I used Quit (NOT force quit).  I figured I'd just reopen the program.

Unfortunately, now when I try to open the wrapper I get a small prompt to do an installation, set screen on options or do advanced stuff.  I've played with these but none seem to have the solution for opening the app.  Even when I click on one of the TWO DVD Profiler buttons automatically created in Launchpad I get the same prompt.

What am I missing?  Is there a "duh, just do this" solution?  I can do another install, but I'd want to know how to avoid repeating this.

It's been since June since I've had a desktop so I'm really eager to get this up and running and SAFELY sync my iPad db which is quite a bit larger now.  I was sooooooooo close!

Has anyone using Crossover or Wineskin successfully sync their data with iPhone via Sharing. I have not been able to sync even though I have successfully installed DVD Profiler on both Crossover and Wineskin.

I've just moved from my MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard and a working DVD Profiler 3.8 using Crossover to a new MacBook Air with Mountain Lion. Unfortunately DVD Profiler does not work on Mountain Lion using Crossover.
Can someone tell me with which solution I can get DVD Profiler running again on Mountain Lion? I don't want to install Windows in any way. Is Wineskin working?
Thanks!

Wineskin is a working solution for me.  It's pretty crashy, though, when I want to edit things.  I try to do as much through iOS then download it to the Mac for backing up and the more advanced features only on the desktop.

Wineskin worked for me - DVD Profiler is up and running and even smoother than with Crossover! Thank you very much!

I need some help, I have used playonmac (with quartz 11) on the mac to run dvdprofiler.
After the Yosimite upgrade dvdprofiler won't run anymore.
Now I installed everything again, DVDprofiler runs good now under playonmac  (with wine) only I can't connect with mine iOs divices for syncen. After the re-install I get an really strange ip adress 127.12......, normally I have 192.168.....
Anyone knows where I can chance the Ip adress? Do I need quartz 11?

First of all, thanks to DariusKyrak for putting the guide together.  I followed the instructions in the original post (the wiki appears to contribute no additional information) and it all went fine under Linux Mint 17.1 with xfce and I was able to restore the database I had backed up under windows 7.

For the benefit of those like me who tend to read the beginning and end of long threads like this one, the original instructions are all still valid with one exception - you cannot now install gecko with winetricks.  I found some manual installation instructions but they didn't appear to actually work so I simply allowed wine to install it when I started DVD profiler the first time.  If I had realised that my manual install of gecko had failed I probably would have used the tip to force wine to install it before starting profiler but no harm was done.

Not sure if anybody still reads or works on this but I have come across an issue and I am not sure if its a linux, wine or DVDprofiler problem.  I have installed Wine and DVDProfiler on debian mate.  Couple things i found but one I cannot seem to fix is when I use DVDProfiler to add a disc by disc ID it can never find the disc ID therefore I cannot add a disc this way.  Has anybody ran across this or have any insight on what I should try?  Thanks.

EDIT:  Never mind I was able to find what I was looking for.  The microsoft qdvd.dll needs to be installed using winetricks for DVDProfiler to correctly read disc ID's.
