So who here is actually picky on their selections? I imagine some collectors at the 2,000+ mark just grab any dvds to make their collections grow quicker. I've been at it for about 3 years now...

I am the same way. I have 750 DVDs and have been collecting since 2001. I have a handful I most likely won't watch again and then the wife has picked out a few that I don't care if I ever see a second time LOL.

I just managed to squeeze into this 600 club with some recent aquisitions. For my own sanity and financial security I hope it's a long time before I make it to the 4000 club.

I think I am fairly selective in my purchases, although I won't claim that all my choices are great works of art. We like what we like. The only DVD I have had to throw out for being too horrible to pollute my collection is Date Movie (2006).

Does anyone else NOT go by the count in dvd profiler? I noticed it counts sets as one. For example: I have the Aliens collection, matrix trilogy, Star Wars Original Trilogy Box Set, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, etc and it counts each as one when its really close to 20 for the above mentioned. I have to count my collection myself every once in a while to get an accurate reading.

I think we all have an oops or two in our collection...we're only human LOL.

I have the opposite problem in that the count includes the box set itself as well as the titles that make up the box set.

As I followed some advice here not to assign a collection number to box set parents I know that my collection number is the real number.

Right now profiler says I have 621 DVDs. My collection number is at 604 and I have 17 titles without collection number. So I know I'm a valid member of the 600 club.

I have actually thrown away one movie.  It was called The Dreamers.  It was horrible.  There are a few movies in my collection i wont ever watch again, but in my opinion The Dreamers had to be thrown away.

Gongrats.. I myself doesn't have a very big collection but as some other guys wrote it's more which you own. I have only been collecting for about 2 years (you know going after specific movies when I wanted them) and I'm starting to think my collection have most of the film my ideal collection should include.

But looking forward to expand my collection

I am at 634, as dvd profiler counts them, as they count a boxset as one entry such as my Omen Trilogy, Nightmare on Elm Street collection etc.
