| | Posted: | | | | This is probably not the advice you want, but throw out the cases. Keep the covers and any inserts, but get rid of all those bloody keep cases, and the snappers as well. Store the DVDs in disc sleeves, preferably a plastic variety into to top of which you can shove a label. Store the filled sleeves in numbered CD/DVD cases, and use the number as "location" in Profiler.
There are variations on this with box sets and whatnot. Sometimes you just have to keep the box sets as is (except I advice taking out the discs and storing the boxes elsewhere). Sometimes the boxes can be undone and flattened for more economical storage. Just don't feel bound by the package provided by the manufacturer. It wastes too much space. |

Most of them are amaray cases and are worth a fair bit, although I'd wait till the amaray factories have a slump and demand raises for the cases on ebay. What I usually do is keep an eye on SVPs stock level and sell them when the've been out of stock for a few wweks (happens a couple of times a year). |

| | Posted: | | | | I resisted taking my discs out of their cases for just over a year. But, we recently moved and don't have the space for 4,000 plus cases/boxes.
We invested in 5 DJ cd carry-cases which each hold 1,000 discs and I use the location slot in profiler to record which box/row/number the discs are in.
Then...all you have to do is find storage space the the damned heavy DJ cases! (We store ours under the bed!) |

I had a friend who put them all in about six DJ cases and when his house was broken into they took them. So I find that with the walls filled with DVD's, It's alittle more difficult to steal. | | Posted: | | | | the dvd cases take up alot more room than dvd folders...but they protect them alot more...and taking the dvds in and out will scratch them a tiny tiny bit each time...so after a while they'll have some scratches...also if the dvd folders lay down they'll have all that weight on them  |

This is better I think. How good is this case. I have the majority of my movies in 6 cases. I find that over time being in these cases isn't the be all and end all. Those sleeves can just as easily wreak havoc on your dvd's as the clam shells you buy them in. My cases have cloth sleeve inserts with plastic. Anyone recommend a good case (dvd's stay good years in) and what type of sleeves do they like better? As I said I am up to six cases (travel bags) and have been in the process of going back to the original clam shell (whatever you call them). I have 1485 movies roughly and I want to know the BEST way to reduce scratching as well as the best storage options. |

I think it is great has 4 16 page split up the hold 8 DVD or CD front/back and unlike case logic case where they are all stuck together. CD-600x2 Media Rack. the boltz storage units are very nice  |
