Has anyone downloaded the DVD Profiler Plugin file, jbpluginsetup.exe, that's required to run the MyMovieCollection App from jbleyel's web site? I downloaded it and according to Norton Antivirus it's an Insight Network Threat WS.Reputation1. Norton isolated and deleted the file.

Interesting. I tried it on two computers, one with Norton gave the same result you got, another with AVG says the file is ok. I have DVD Profiler on both machines, but now I'm not sure if I want to try it...

jbleyel really ought to look into this if he expects to sell this thing.

Visit VirusTotal.com to check the file with many different anti virus scanners. If only Norton throws a warning, it's very likely a false positive. You obviously still won't be one-hundred percent sure, though...

I'd like to try jbleyel's App but unless I disable Norton, I won't be able to download the plugin. I'm currently using the iCollect Movies Pro App on my iPod Touch 4G but it leaves a lot to be desired, i.e., most info is incomplete, most info comes from IMDB, some titles have covers from totally different films, etc, etc. I have nearly 3,000 titles in my collection and iCollect Movies Pro does not have an import ability. Their workaround is a bit of work:

1. Do an export from your iPhone/iTouch.
2. Import the file it sends you into excel as a CSV (comma separated values).
2a. If possible, when importing tell it that the barcode field is TEXT, not numbers. (you can do this in excel, others maybe not) This is very important. The Barcode feild is the master. If you dont do this, you may loose preceeding zeros which are important in a barcode.
3. You now will see all the fields (as columns) in the order you need to populate them. Just take your existing data and shuffle it around to match the columns.
4. Once all your data is prepped, make an extra column on the end (just past "custom") and type && in every cell from row 1 all the way to your last record. This is needed in order to get trailing comma on the end that it needs. Basically by putting && in those cells, it will add a ,&& which you can then replace later. There are other ways around this, it’s just the way I thought of for now.
5. When done, export as a Windows or DOS .csv file (the Mac format didnt work for me - it failed to put each record on a new line).
6. Open the file you saved in a text editor (notepad).
7. Do a find/replace of all && with <blank> (meaning nothing, you're trying to get rid of the &&).
8. Go to the end of the file, after the last comma in the last line, type endline.
9. Save your file.
10. Upload your file to the icollectmedia.com website and import it back to your iPhone/iTouch.

For this solution to work I’d need to export my DVD Profiler collection to .csv. I haven’t looked lately but can DVD Profiler 3.6 still do that? Right now I’m manually entering each UPC and with 3,000 titles that’s going to take a while . At least with jbleyel's App I wouldn’t have to go through all the conversion, formatting, blah, blah, blah.

Thank you for the information.
I have upload the setup to virustotal and i get only this.
eSafe 7.0.17.0 2010.12.05 Win32.APPLAgent.Rz
I think there is a problem with NSIS setup and esafe.

Update:

i find this:

WS.Reputation.1 is a detection for files that have a low reputation score based on analyzing data from Symantec’s community of users and therefore are likely to be security risks. Detections of this type are based on Symantec’s reputation-based security technology. Because this detection is based on a reputation score, it does not represent a specific class of threat like adware or spyware, but instead applies to all threat categories.

Thanks for the update jbleyel . I was aware of Norton's definition of WS.Reputation.1 but what concerned me was their use of "therefore are likely to be security risks". Since Norton automatically deletes your file I'm unable to install it without first disabling Norton. I just needed assurances that the file is safe to run. I'd love to try out your App and compare it to the iCollect Movies Pro App.

I downloaded a program called MovieScan and it seems to work ok, it's just a basic program though. The plus side you scan the UPC using the camera on the iPhone/iPod and it searches the net for the movie. You can also scan anything else into the program as well as long as it has a UPC, such as books, CDs and even Poptarts (I had to try).
We're on a mission from God.

iCollect Movies Pro also uses the iPhone or iPod Touch camera to scan in your movies. I just added 20 more titles using this method with my iPod Touch 4G and it was 100% accurate and relatively fast.
