I can answer that - since the ipod touch doesn't have 3G - only wifi - it must be able to sync with that.. (and as I read Ken's comment - the 3G was an extra) | | | | Paul |

I was curious as to how a desktop person without any kind of wireless connection in the PC/WAN would sync the collection with this new i* program? |

Well, I think its über fast anyway  Thanks Taro, that is my point, USB would be my first choice to perform a sync, Wifi second (if I had it), 3G last. But, Ken doesn't specifically say "USB cable" and I can't see/don't understand if that is included or no. Doesn't Ken have to code that in? Does he want to code it in? What do I do if it is not supported once released and I have crappy equipment (other then the new iPhone then  ) and still want to sync these? Please, forgive if I query obvious... things... |

Apple don't allow apps to sync data directly across USB. If you want to use USB, it has to go though iTunes. This is why developers that don't want to use iTunes sync wirelessly. |

This is why most apps that have a desktop client as well sync via wifi... The 3G is bonus However the question still remains... Does the desktop version have to be open to sync | | | | -JoN |

| | Posted: | | | | Maybe add a switch to hide from the task bar when minimized and be available on the icon bar near the clock? Kind of the way Task Manager operates.
As for "opening the port", I figure that means a port forward/redirect which directs all traffic on the specific port to a specific computer. Pretty much every router does this differently so please check your documentation.
Ken: I've seen apps auto-configure my router to create this port forward, maybe something to look into. |
