I actually still have my ICQ account   (The number is still active; I dunno if I can still log on.)

Since Facebook is being asked for, I might as well go ahead and ask that these be added as well

As of version 3.0.12 released three months ago, phpBB forum software still use ICQ as a default profile entry.

I am still using my ICQ account

Before Google I always used altavista. I didn't like the catalogue system that Yahoo used.

Ok, I get the historical stuff.  That's a good explanation for why forums used to include these things.  Still doesn't explain why that stuff should be updated for today's social media.  It seems the main purpose is not really an issue these days.

So perhaps a better question is, what could we do with these?  If I'm going to enter that information somewhere, it ought to be for a better reason than giving strangers an easier way to find me.  As an example, if we entered our Facebook information, the program could (in theory) be setup to allow us to easily post reviews on Facebook.  I"m curious what else we might do with that information.
Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.

Well, the main purpose for these informations would be so you can add that person to you buddy list.

With facebook you can ask to become a friend. Most of us are using nicknames here, so it would be kinda hard to find person X on Facebook without knowing their real name. and even then there's probably one ore two John Smiths out there.

The question is: Just because I might enter my Facebook ID into my profile, do I really want everyone to know it?

It could be a setting in the Invelos Friendship settings, where I can already say that only persons X, Y and Z get to see my email address.
