Physical based media is better in every way. You get better bitrate and no down time.

God forbid if internet went down and the end of the world come about :O atleast i would have my blu-ray and dvd collection in my doomsday bunker to keep me going

To me physical media is always better than digital streaming.

I love dvdprofiler excellent place to archive my collection. its simple and the user interface is second to none

^ Agreed. But most young'ens seem to prefer digital. I don't, not only if the Internet goes down (which doesn't happen often with me around here), but if a digital company goes away or is sold off to another company. It's certainly possible that any digital copies you "own" don't transfer.

I won't ever go digital. Call me an old fogie.

With oldies I meant long-time users. Many of us have been here for over a decade.

You made me realized I use DVDP for more than 10 years... in fact I jumped the gun three days after the version 3.0, the first one from Invelos, was released

I'm a mix.  I believe to date I've purchased one item digitally.  But I always redeem my digital codes.

When it comes to watching, while I still prefer to watch the disc, I must admit that I've been doing a lot more streaming.

I get that my iPad isn't nearly as big as my TV, but that's all relative.  The TV is on the other side of the room.  The iPad is in my lap.  I'm quite pleased with the screen size at that distance.

I don't get the awesome surround sound, but I do have nice noise-canceling headphones that I'm rather fond of.

I don't get the bonus features when I watch digitally.  But honestly, I got tired of bonus features a couple thousand discs back.  I rarely watch them even on the disc.

On the plus side, I can take my iPad anywhere in the house to watch.  That's a nice feature.  I tend to spend most of that time outside.

I don't see myself going digital only, but I do love having the digital download with my movie.  The quality isn't the same.  But once I get into the story, I tend to forget that it's HD or has an awesome sound track.  I watch for the stories, not the technical specs.

Thing is, and back to being an old fogie, I don't have an iPad, closest thing I have is an old Amazon Fire device which I rarely use.
