This did not fix it either. The program locks up.
I don't really know how Carsten does it, but I guess 'his' Browser isn't really a browser but makes some kinda use of MS' IE or Edge. I have found a temp folder called CCE2browser on my HD. There is no executable in it, but a Readme file from MS Edge.
So, just a very wild guess but maybe your security settings in the MS Browsers are too high or maybe you got rid of them somehow?!

Maybe MS changed some security (UAC or what is it called?) policies with the Windows 11 h235 update I installed between your latest 2 releases of CCE2. Wednesdays Version didn't require the additional confirmation to open the exe. Yesterdays Version of CCE2 did.
Edit: About the new way IMDB displays Crew Jobs, it is awful, not only in combination with using CCE2. No clue what they were thinking. The writing credits for 'Play Dirty', for example, look stupid on IMDB with the '&' after each line. And because one guy is also 'credited as' you'll also end up with extra spaces when parsing this with CCE2.
For the 'Play Dirty' Writers, the '&' Symbol is read correctly by CCE2. In Episodes Titles it is read as \u0026D.

LOL, that fixed it. Opening the .exe directy brought up the windows warning about starting unknown programs and after confirming that I really wanted to open it, it worked from within in CCE2.

The extended config file isn't working for me. Clicking on the option in CCE2 results in a crash with this error message (I used the upgrade version of the new CCE2):

Edit: no idea what the error is about but this line is odd, CCE2 isn't on my drive D:\ - D:\Git\CastCrewEdit2\CastCrewEdit2\... - CCE2 is on C:\ in a cloud folder, as you can see in some of the paths. But that has never caused an issue so far.

Same for me. Nothing works anymore, except the optional soundtrack credits.
PS: The & symbol is parsed as \u0026, happens in Episode Names, wich also still work, mostly. But this may just be me or an Win11 issue. I have many ASCII(?) problems with Microsoft Crap and older Programs relying on plain Text. | Posted: Topic Replies: 730, Topic Views: 68580 |
