| Posted: | | | | In about 2 hours it is expected the Toshiba is going to throw in the towel. They are going to cease HD-DVD hardware production immediately and be sold out by the end of March. More details to come.
The sceond season of ST Remastered has been cancelled not simply delayed, apparaently Toshiba was financing the remastering to disc. My guess is that Paramount will soon announce a BD release.
Now who is the big winner here, obviously LG as sales of their Combos should accelerate. What should if anything be done relative to people who have been purchasing HD Discs IF anything. Offer them some sort of trade allowance? Since the decision on this was taken out of the hands of the consumer, and instead determined by resellers, it would seem to be good PR for the parties involved, resellers and Studios alike would get their heads together and come up with a viable plan. But we will have to wait and see.
Personally, I will be purchasing a Combo Deck AND a Combo Drive (for computer), my sympathies to those that have invested heavily in HD, I only have 4 titles.<whew>.

Wow, what the the hell? Relax. You said in 2 hours at 9:43pm. It's been everywhere since this morning.(Actually months) I didn't accuse or make any assumptions about anything. Jumping on me for no reason now makes me think maybe you feel guilty for some reason. Best thing you could do is NEVER talk to me like that again. I did nothing to provoke you or anyone else. Updating a post WITH links so people could read them is reason for YOU to jump on me? I expect a full apology immediately.
OMG you red arrowed me for my post? Are you kidding me? For useful links with accurate information and you freak out? Wow. I'm speechless . I am sorry, I could be wrong, but are you making a threat Opus, because that is how it sounded to me? |

| Posted: | | | | Skip... a word of warning... all those Combo drives / players have been nothing but problematic on both formats. I would avoid them like the plague. Also, if you have not jumped in head first at this point, there is no real need to get a combo drive / player as all previously released HD DVD exclusives will surely find their way to the blu-ray disc format. | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... | | | Last edited: by NewEnglander |

Skip I have my spies as well. One very reliable one has reported just about everything there is to report on the subject including his latest: Toshiba expected to pull plug tomorrow; end sales by March Now if I were really a wise guy (or an a-hole) I would say the OP should have used the search feature and not start yet another thread to discuss the same thing... guess it's a good thing I'm not that kind of guy |

And I find you and your post extremely disrespectful. Your post wasn't offensive, it was informative. That is blatant reputation system abuse. Admins, are you watching? | | | 99.9% of all cat plans consist only of "Step 1." |
