Trailers never updated?

Does anyone besides me ever update a Trailer link?  Many times I click to view a disc trailer in my library, only to be told it "does not exist" or "account cancelled" or some other reason to indicate Invelos' link is no longer valid.

Frequently I will then take the time to search for possible YouTube replacements and, if found,  submit them to "Headquarters". It usually takes and my new Trailer link then works.

But in all the 3-or-so years of updating my modest collection database, NEVER have previews of downloaded updates from Invelos indicated that there were any changes to the Trailers category of a disc.

This leads me to believe that the ONLY way to maintain current valid Trailers linkage is to update each of them MANUALLY YOURSELF as frequently as you think needed. The Invelos update program seems not to do it and does not pass along Trailer link corrections or updates submitted by other subscribers. But if I am mistaken, please advise -- thanks.

You're correct but the trailers don't work the way you think they do. They are really just an online link, not a part of the actual profile itself. That's why they're never up for voting nor a part of the download update.

All the trailer button does is go online and access the link that's in an online database as you'll see if you disconnect you're computer from the internet, then click the link you get a 'page cannot be found' error.

As with everything else in the database the links have to be submitted by users in the first place and if the owner removes the trailer they've linked to, a new one has to be found and submitted to replace it. What you're finding is that very few users appear to actually use the trailer function (I never have).

I use it all the time. I have been downloading Hi-res trailers from Apple ever since they started posting them and have over 800 GB worth. The earliest m480s and m640s being around 2001 and the earliest 1080s being 2005. I link to the ones I have on my hard drive the rest I leave to the internet.

What version of the The Lord of the Rings Internet Preview Trailer do you have?

Was this trailer included on the DVD and/or B-rD releases?

I'm not familiar with "The Lord of the Rings Internet Preview Trailer" and I can't tell you if it's on the B-rD release or not. I'm lucky any more if I can remember what I had for lunch.

I did check all the LOTR trailers I have and all I have are the individual movie trailers.

I don't believe the internet trailer made it onto any of the DVDs.

I believe the internet trailer was the first look at the trilogy released and was available on the official website. Here's a version on YouTube.

my question is how do you upload a trailer and upload it to youtube when youtube strictly says don't use copyright infringement?

I think YouTube is fairly lax on what you can upload. Unless a studio complains, they have no problem with it. Can't see studios getting up in arms over an old trailer being uploaded. It's essentially marketing.

What version of the first Spider-Man Teaser (with the World Trade Center twin towers) do you have?

Banned?  It wasn't banned, Sony just choose not to use it in light of 911.
