If you have multi region DVD player I can also rcommend The Masters of Cinema from R2 Uk for their excellent release's see http://www.mastersofcinema.org/. Or R4 Madman Entertainment http://www.madman.com.au

yep, and for movies released as Criterion and as MoC, check dvdbeaver.com for comparisons

you might consider looking at the Kino on Video dvd releases (kino.com) or just search the criterion forum for good info on the best labels besides those mentioned here

My favorites:

Seven Samurai (where it all begins for criterion)
The Killers (soooooooooo  underrated)
Silence of the Lambs (OOP)
Pickup on South Street (for the cover alone)
Peeping Tom (strange, but fun)

Here's a reason to really love them!

"Good news for all true Malickians: Terry is about to receive the
Criterion DVD treatment, starting with DAYS OF HEAVEN. I will be
working on it (writing the introductory essay to Malick's work), so I
will keep this hallowed group on insiders informed of any tantalising
'extras' in the works. And let's hope it's the start of a TM series..."

They're also reportedly working on Robinson Crusoe on Mars.

Can't wait for that one (but will have to).

So far, only "insiders" (and that image) but this is supposedly the actual response from the good folks at Criterion:

"You may consider your suspicions confirmed -- if all goes as planned you can expect to see a “Days of Heaven” release in stores this autumn."

Mindyou, Malick DVDs have fallen apart at the last minute before, but I consider this company a bit more reliant...
