Not sure why this is such a big deal.
...

Well, as I said in my first post: "Not that this is a major problem"

For me it just happens to be the first (and so far, the only  ) problem I ran into when using DVD Profiler (and I like it a lot!), and from software usability point of view, it would just make a lot of sense to be able to assign a default currency for retailers that don't use your default currency.

What would be the harm in having this feature in DVD Profiler for somebody who doesn't need it?  None, as the default currency for a retailer would obviously come from your system default currency, and if you only buy from retailers using one currency, nothing would change in your daily usage.

As I've used DVD Profiler only for a month or so, feel free to educate me; is the feature request forum a venue where you are supposed to criticize feature requests which would benefit a number of users but not yourself?  Even when the said feature would have no negative impact on you at all?

This is not a sarcastic comment, I'm genuinely interested to understand how Invelos works with respect to feature requests.  Are the forums seen as an informal voting system from where Invelos will collect plus/minus votes that will have an impact on DVD Profiler development?

I can easily understand "plus votes", not so sure about the "minus votes" for requests of non-disruptive features, unless we ("the user community") are already aware that every new feature includes some effort to implement, and "voting down" features you don't need might improve the chance of getting some features implemented that you deem important.

Or are we just trying to keep feature-bloat to a minimum (which is always a worthwhile goal)?

Definitely veering a bit off-topic here, sorry...

Even if there was not a default per retailer, the next best thing would be to have the manual change stick for a session of "add". So if I buy a batch of 7 discs from the US I would change it to US for the first entry, and it would stay at US for the next one.

It would only revert back to the default after I finished that "add" session.

But I think that has also been requested before.
Tom.

From GSyren's post it seems to me he's agreeing with the feature request. Although I do agree with your point in general.

Yes, my post was meant to address Taro's and other's concerns about using several currencies for the same retailer. Sorry if I wasn't making myself clear.

My reply was partially prompted by my misunderstanding and partially because I was completely dumbfounded by a response I had just received from Invelos support "Yes, all feature requests should be posted in the forums...".

My request was to have the Ukrainian language added to the DVD Profiler's lists of known subtitle languages (some European BDs come with a lot of subtitle languages). Mostly likely I'll never learn Ukrainian myself, but having complete data in the profile could benefit at least somebody.

I do understand that there are other languages missing as well, and most users would probaly be fine with just, say, three subtitle languages, but there could be a straightforward way to let the user prune the list of displayed language options.

I couldn't (and I still can't  ) figure out why such a straightforward "feature" request should be hashed in forums - I didn't just invent the Ukrainian language, honest!  Valid subtitle languages are missing from DVD Profiler, why not just make them available?  Would take much less time than many people pondering the feasibility of such a request
