Own the Moments: Jennifer's Body / Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
If instead of the movie-titles they would have used a release number (e.g. "Own the Moments 1") this would undoubtedly go all into the title-field. What I don't understand is in how far it makes any difference how the release is specified (number or movie-titles). | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | I wouldn't go as far as saying user preference trumped the rules. It could be the original contributor didn't believe that "Own the Moments" is part of the title. I know looking at that cover I would never dreamed that "Own the Moments" would be part of the title... I would never even thought of adding it to the edition either. Everything on the front case is not necessarily part of one of those two fields.
Even considering what I know now (that there is more then one release that says it) I am not completely convinced it is part of the title or edition. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | There have been differing viewpoints on these issues for years and there has never been a consensus on what is "correct" since any of them could be "right" Ken has weighed in on the topic here: http://invelos.com/Forums.aspx?task=viewtopic&topicID=667247&PageNum=10The problem is that although Ken states consistency is key, as far as this topic is concerned, the database is a mess. At one time I started going through and comparing how these types of titles were entered and found hundreds/thousands of titles/editions entered all kinds of different ways. It was at that point I locked all of my title/edition fields. As I go through my collection, I enter the data the same way so that at least locally I have standardized my profiles. | | | Last edited: by Kathy |

I just wanted to highlight this post again. This is why I loath discussing things in the forum. When I contribute and/or vote I always try and follow the rules. I don't see anything in the rules for 'Own the Moments' to be in the title field. YOUR OPINION that it belongs in the Title is just that, YOUR OPINION. I left it off the initial submission because I wasn't clear that it should be included. If I didn't want it in my local I can easily adjust it. Just a FYI I contributed 'Own the Moments' to the edition field. A big **** *** to you for making assumptions on my motives and your little snide remarks. Talk about making assumptions. First, I never said that 'Own the Moments' was the title, I said, " If the name of the series is 'Own the Moments', then that is what should be in the title field. Notice I said if/then, not is/must. Second, Lewis asked a general question...one not specific to this title as this situation is not unique and has come up before. I answered that general question using this set as an example, but there are many others...Horror Classics, Sci-Fi Double Feature, Action Double Feature, etc. in all the discussions we have had, going back several years, user preference...that preference being it is easier to find the profile when searching by title if the actual film titles are in the title field, regardless of what the series is called...has trumped the rules. Sorry to disappoint, but my post had zero to do with you. In fact, until your post above, I had no idea you were the one who had asked the original question. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. In fact re-read the thread before making accusations or assumptions. If you didn't know I was the one to bring up 'Own the Moments' then you shouldn't say have made the statement you did. Lewis may have made a general question, but your answer was very specific even mentioning 'Own the Moments' which I initially brought up. Regardless of any discussion held in these forums, it is NOT IN THE RULES. Are you apologizing? You stated: "What has happened here is that user preference has trumped the rules" Do you still feel this is an accurate depiction? Instead of playing CYA why don't you just say you were wrong, that you didn't read the thread and apologize for casting disparaging remarks towards me? | | | HDTV: 52" Toshiba Regza 52XV545U AVR: Onkyo TR-707 Speakers: Paradigm Monitor 7 v6, CC-190 & Atom Monitors Subwoofer: Definitive Technology ProSub 800 BD/DVD: Oppo BDP-93 (Region Free) HD PVR: Motorola DXC3400 500GB w/ 1TB Expander BD/DVD/Game: 250GB PS3 Slim DVD/Game: 250GB XBox 360 Elite Special Edition (Black) Game: Wii Remote: Logitech Harmony One w/ PS3 Adapter WHS: Acer H341 Windows Home Server |

Looking at some of the recent contributions, I believe you are mistaken. At this point I'd rather see the complete removal of the edition field since it no longer serves any useful purpose. It's just another place for entering meaningless marketing rubbish. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

Do you still feel this is an accurate depiction? Instead of playing CYA why don't you just say you were wrong, that you didn't read the thread and apologize for casting disparaging remarks towards me? I made my post based on the fact that this has come up before and, honestly, payed no attention to your cover scan post until you made your post above. SO, while I am sorry that you thought I was casting disparaging remarks towards you, I am not going to apologize for something I didn't do. I don't play CYA as I freely own my snide remarks. I do, however, clarify my posts when somebody takes them the wrong way. Since that is what happened here, there isn't much else I can do. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. The rules are very vague, it's not as simple as you make it out to be, and like most of the rules can be interperted differently by different people. Quoting TheMadMartian: Quote:

I wasn't reading anything into your post that wasn't there. You gave the example of "Own the Moments" and said the user ( ME!) ignored the rules for their own personal preference. The way YOU wrote it, how else am I supposed to take it? Take responsibility for your actions, intended or otherwise. Quoting TheMadMartian: Quote:
