It is based on trust and I accept that if a contributor says they took the data from the credits that is good enough for me. If I remember correctly, it's good enough for invelos as well. All they have ever required is that you include the UPC/EAN of the profile you are copying. Since you already do that, well, nothing more needs to be said. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Obviously you 2 don't understand my post, I would say stupid is on the other foot. I've used the program before, but you still have to view the film credits to verify everything is correct. So I cut 1 step out by just viewing the credits. How is that stupid. I could copy and paste from another profile - download a 2nd profile, copy and paste to my profile, and view film credits to verify the are correct - so I cut out 2 steps by viewing the credits. How is that stupid. Seems like adding more steps to get to the same result is a waste of time, only needed for government jobs. Reread your own first post. THAT is a stupid comment. And if the post is misunderstood, it is not for my lack of interpretation skills, its for your apparent lack of ability to phrase what you actually mean. You were caught out on commenting without actually completely knowing what it was that you commenting on and just dont want to admit it. That you have since actually looked at the program is great, that you try to give a different spin to your first post is.... a little less great. How you verify your credits is entirely up to you. If you feel your way is best, fine. Nobody called your methods stupid. Implying that the tool replaced visually checking the credits, is what was called stupid. On topic: Personally I would prefer to have only 100% accurate data, but I am a realist. That will never happen. So I do accept the profile updates that are documented in the way Kathy mentioned. Even if that means that some inaccurate data can get in. |

Even if that means that some inaccurate data can get in. added notes for you. Or maybe they could actually visually check the credits,(which is what the rules say to do) instead of relying on a program to do the work for them. (Which there was no mention of actually verifying the credits after using the program) And if they can't take the time to check the cast/crew credits, keep the copied for yourself and don't upload the garbage to the database.(referring to the copy/paste that people do) You're not doing anyone a favor by short cutting it. (copy and paste) No info is better than wrong info. just had an example for a profile that was contributed with copied cast/crew from another approved profile that I voted no on because it replaced existing with incorrect data. But that is okay per you. I should just shut up and accept the wrong data. Forum Moderator: Removed namecalling. Please follow the forum rules. | | | Last edited: by Forum Moderator |

| Posted: | | | | Ateo357, I have a feeling that you are confusing CastCrewCheck with some other program. You use CastCrewCheck while you are watching the credits, not instead of watching them. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | Lol ateo357. Can't take the time to actually read the post and resort to name calling. That is the second stupid post you have made in this thread. And since it has been explained to you fairly clearly this one is even more stupid than the first one.
One more time, especially for you:
LOOK at the program. You DO visually check the credits. Simple enough for you?
Neither I nor anybody else said you have to accept data that is incorrect. |

Neither I nor anybody else said you have to accept data that is incorrect. I know I don't have to accept incorrect data. But I also don't condone it like you do by accepting copy and paste or pass it along to others by not verifying it first hand. It may not be important to you and others that you continue to keep passing along incorrect data maybe your standards are lower then mine. That's your problem, it comes from wearing your a$$ as a hat. | | | Last edited: by ateo357 |

CastCrewCheck is used specifically for verifying it first hand! That is the purpose of the program. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

The way to pay back a programmer is to say his program sucks, doesn't work, or isn't needed. Been waiting for you to bring up the mention of CastCrewCheck for months. |

It's not that shocking. What's shocking is the amount of names and profiles of blatant lies in contribution notes that I have compiled over the last 2 years, spanning all regions. |
