Ray Green.  He never did any other films, only AXE (a.k.a. California Axe Massacre)  But his part in AXE was a major part and it's become a grindhouse drive-in classic.

Here's a pretty recent pic of mine. Each bookcase stores around 100 DVDs per shelf (when double faced - and they are). These are all organised alphabetically by movie...

These bookcases are now full. A I squeezed in a smaller 'overspill' cabinet to the right capable of string about 400 more.

All my TV, music, and animation DVDs are in another cabinet in another room. Next step: Loft conversion!

For storage I've found the best solution for me. In general I prefer to have alle Discs in their original cases. Also I'd like to have "instant access" to every disc. So I don't want to store them in boxes or in two lines (one in front, one behind). I use the shelf "billy" from ikea. I assume this is an article available worldwide in ikea stores The "big" one is 80cm wide and 202cm tall. Costs wil lbe about 38€ in Germany. For DVD or Blu-rays you'll need for the big one two additional "boards". So you can store about 400 DVDs/BDs. if you like, you can add doors to the shelf.

For the best sorting I'm still on search. In general I seperate DVD from BDs. Next I take all the TV Boxes together. But the next step would be the most important. A "user friendly" sort would be by genre. But it's not so easy to classify every titel into a certain genre. So I decide to sort by release studio. This is unique for every title and good to group. There are only two things I don't like. It's not so easy to find a titel if you don't know the studio (ok, I can take a look in dvd profiler...). And second: for some legacy titles it's not possible to get them together. In Germany Terminator 1 is from MGM, Terminator 2 from "Kinowelt" and Terminator 3 from Columbia/TriStar. So, if anyone has a better idea - go on and tell me!

I dont have a very large collection, but I also use the Ikea Billy bookcase, I currently have 3 of them.

Very cost effective (about $0.50 / disc). At about twice the price, take a look at the Dacal/Ziotek (and other versions) USB controllable disc carousels. You can control them with DVDP using a plugin, which perhaps helps rationalize the extra cost.

I wouldn't buy two addional boards for the big Billy, but store in two rows, and use the extra height to raise the back row.

All DVDs would be easy to spot and to get, 100 per shelf, 600 per Billy. In practice I do not store DVDs in this efficient way myself, because I do not have a large collection. (will send some pics later)
