Apparently the original title duplicate finder doesn't work 100% as it should. I have three editions of Amarcord on my wishlist (both criterions and a german one). All have the same original title (Amarcord) but only the two criterions show up as duplicates. My guess is that it doesn't use the original title alone but also the edition. | | | - Jan |

Will the new query give us the correct total running time if it differs? It currently shows the running time for the parent and the combined running time of the children. Of course it's possible to get some false positives. For example, the Godfather set has a separate profile for the bonus disc and that bonus disc has a running time assigned to it. So in that case, the sum of the children should NOT equal the parent. You can either ignore those, or remove the running time of the bonus discs or tag them and exclude bonus profiles from the results with the Tags filter. In fact, I have all my box sets tagged as well as all my manual profile that exist simply to group other profiles together (TV, HD, Documentaries, etc). I never even use those weird Box Set filters and use my tags instead to filter my results. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Could you probably include an option to use the "original title" instead of "title" like dvdp does? Seeing the German titles instead of the original ones really confuses me The option is already there. Click on any tab other than Summary. Right-click. The first option in the popup menu is View Columns. Uncheck Title and check Original Title. Now you can see the original title instead of title on your results. And for the next question you're about to ask , bring up the Options screen. The 6th one down is "Use Title when Original Title is blank". If you check that, you'll get the Original Title when it exists and Title when there is no Original Title. If you leave it unchecked, you get a blank when there is no Original Title. Quoting hydr0x: Quote: Another request, although I might just be missing it: I'd love another filter: profiles with collection numbers
the reason is that I sometimes number the boxset and sometimes the children and basically filtering for numbered items would be the perfect filter Hmm... So you're happy with the way you've numbered things, you just want to weed out those without collection numbers (or weed out those with collection numbers)? That's an odd request, but it certainly sounds simple. I'll see what I can do. Quoting hydr0x: Quote: and yet another thing:

If that's not the behavior you're looking for, try unchecking that option so it just displays Title. When I do that I go from 16 matches to 91. I'd guess you're displaying the edition. If that's not it, then I would suspect that those titles do differ somehow. Because in my own collection I'm seeing plenty of matches where I have three versions of a title. In fact, I get four hits on Planet of the Apes (the 2001 version, the 1968 version, the box set with all the movies and the 1968 version in the box set). | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. doesn't help with Last Watched/Bought lists though Quote:

That's an odd request, but it certainly sounds simple. I'll see what I can do. why is this odd? isn't it perfectly normal to want statistics to work on the actual collection instead of some artificial constructs?! I also think my way of numbering is the most common one (I number both Ben-Hur in the "set" (one being the parent) but I don't number the Indiana Jones box, only it's three children), at least I think I can remember polls showing just that Quote:

Yeah, I was displaying it, thanks. It doesn't seem logical to include the edition with the queries for original title or title though imho. It doesn't add any functionality but forces me to not show editions to make this work. | | | - Jan |

| Posted: | | | | Is there any chance you could add an "is blank" option to the querys? So we can find fields that are empty (for example, sort title etc.)
Edit: I notice it's available on some fields (missing SRP), I just thought it'd be nice to have it on more of them. | | | Last edited: by northbloke |

I number my boxes (assuming that's how I bought them). I also tag all of my box sets so I can easily filter them out. So the Tags filter was the first thing I added to the plug-in. And it works awesome! I'm used to doing things a particular way and wrote my plug-in to work with my collection. I've done the best I could at trying to guess how other may use the program, and my plug-in, differently. For example, some people use the Ordered and/or Wishlist tabs for all kinds of things like DVDs for sale or trade, rented movies, etc. So I've added an option to allow those tabs to be treated differently. I've tried to take those things into account where ever I could, but I obviously haven't thought of everything. I know that my numbering scheme is in the minority. But it never occurred to me that they would want to filter on that. That makes it odd (because my way with tags make so much more sense to me). Quote: Yeah, I was displaying it, thanks. I just had to do the best I could do and deal with the rest later. Regardless, there's a really simple solution to this particular problem. For a lot of queries that option is already there if you use the regular expressions option. But I learned during my beta testing that that was asking just a little too much from the average user. ;) Didn't think about the tag-filter. I can do it that way actually as I have all my movies tagged "movie". Great!! Quote:

The problem is I've already done the work. I'm tempted to pull it out since it's a little clunky. On the other hand, it does work. And since I know the majority number the child profiles and not the box set, I suppose it could still be of use to others. So I'll probably end up just leaving it in. I used to have a "Movie" tag. So I could track how many actual movies I have vs. documentaries, TV shows, kids stuff, etc. But I found it to be a pain to keep updated. So I finally got rid of it. My primary tags are Box Sets, Groups and TV. That handles 99% of my filtering needs and also works very well with my plug-in. I've also tagged all my collections. Like Fox Studio Classics, Walt Disney Treasures, Criterion, Hitchcock, etc. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

Now I can filter those out which works great for listing the top actors in my collection. Now I don't have Bruce Willis being counted twice for each Die Hard movie for example. And for those who use the Top Actor query, version 1.2 will allow you to filter out voice actors and uncredited actors. I had both in my top 10 and wasn't interested in seeing them. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.
