Skip I'm just laughing at you now Skip... this is just sad, so I am amusing myself at your expense! The only thing I have total and utter contempt for for is you! | | | Andy

| Posted: | | | | That is your problem and is the tip of a very nasty iceberg, Lopek. I am glad that I don's share the same for you, only your behavior and breaking of the Rules. It takes far too much energy to hate someone. I only feel sorry for you. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

| Posted: | | | | Guys, what the heck are you doing? 9 pages for 1 cent? Nine? Just let it go! It's one cent! Skip, you need to stop, you're sounding like a Dalek. "VIOLATION! VIOLATION!". This can't be healthy. Save your brain cells! Surely the rule was simply to stop hundreds of updates for tiny changes. If Andy has submitted lots of things, what's the problem? It is simple a Rules violation is a rules violation and can't be rationalized or spun. Were you around when people suddenly started submitting hundreds of these 1, 2, 3, 5, even 7 cent changes...every week, and then somebody would try and re-change them. It was a nightmare.
I am also aware that some SRP changes like this manage to slip past, that does not make them any less a Rules violation.

Of course I was around. I've been around almost since Profiler appeared. That's why I think it's gone too far. If the RRP is changed with documentation, amongst dozens of other changes, what is the problem? If the RRP is changed even with documentation, but on it's own, then yes; rules violated, bandwidth wasted, teeth being gnashed, Dalek mode engaged. Lopek's change should be acceptable when taken with the big picture. What must new users be thinking when they see a thread like this? | | | Jon "When Mister Safety Catch Is Not On, Mister Crossbow Is Not Your Friend."

| Posted: | | | | I don't deal in big picture, I deal in every piece of data individually and ONE Rules violation, invalidates the entire set of data...simple.

| Posted: | | | | Big pictures, little pictures, whatever. The rule obviously needs clarifying and rewriting. The thread is about to tip 10 pages and it looks silly. I've said what I think and I don't even have the damn disc! I'll set you a challenge: one of you resolve this before the next page break, even if it means backing down. | | | Jon "When Mister Safety Catch Is Not On, Mister Crossbow Is Not Your Friend."

| Posted: | | | | I think that some of you are overlooking the fact that Ken or Gerri or any of the previewers can accept and reject portions of an update now that they have new software on their end.
When we wrote the latest version of the contribution rules, they had to accept all or nothing.
For a single cent difference, keep it in your local and forget about it. | | | Dan |

| Posted: | | | | That is a personal choice, tlevel..I have never said anything differently. it is also a question of whether some users view COMPLETE data, I do NOT remove that data when it is already present as that WOULD be a Rules violation, but their are ocassions when such is outside of where I am going, and there is NO REQUIREMENT in the Rules that data must be COMPLETE and Accurate. Nice try, though, he who has CONTRIBUTED NOTHING EVER.

| Posted: | | | | If the rules are designed to avoid numerous profile updates with tiny changes, shouldn't there be rules to avoid meaningless discussions in the forum?
We expect new users to go to the forum and find answers to their questions, and castigate them for asking questions that have been asked before. But you can't blame them for not being able to see the wood through the trees (assuming that's proper English). I mean, 10 pages about 1 cent, and nobody buys or sells DVD's at the SRP price anyway... | | | Hans |

Skip Sure that was your intepretation of the rules, same with Lopek here. As for not contributing, well, as long as you THINK this is your database, then I will not be contributing profiles at least. Unlike you, I keep my perferences LOCAL. | | | The Other DVD Forum Why do people who know the least know it the loudest? |
