I remember another thread about something like "When is a series complete?"

This might be something similar especially according to the different info of different databases.

Is anybody from Italy here? At least I hope that Italians could answer this question better :-)

So the German "versionf" of the series was sent as "Allein gegen die Mafia" with 10 seasons.
But whenever I watch disc one of any of the seasons the opening titles say something like "Mini-Series with XXX parts". And as the original italian titles of each season are not "La Piovra: Stagione XXX" but always "La Piovra" with ascending numbers, it might be that each so called "season" IS a new SERIES.

The ofdb also shows it as 10 different (Mini-)Series, imdb is more confusing but I think the reason is wrong data. From "season" 1 - 6 their OT is "La Piovra 1" to "La Piovra 6", but from "season" 7 - 10 imdb always has the same OT "La Piovra 7".

So if anybody has further information: Is this 1 series with 10 seasons, 10 "different" series with 1 season each or (the imdb version) 7 series, 6 with 1 season each and the last with 4 seasons?

And if anybody wants to know why I'd like to find clarification for that chaos: I am always counting the number of complete series in my collection :-)

Thanks in advance!

Since this seems to be a matter of opinion, I would say that the only opinion that counts is your own! Is it one series or ten to you?

If you like to have a lot of TV shows, then count it as ten. Who's to say that you're wrong? Is anybody going to go through your collection, count the series and say "Hey! Your count is off by nine!"? I think not!

Well, I always try to keep my counts as realistiv as possible, based on facts. And we all know how many mistakes are always done with translations... that's why I asked if here is anybody from Italy who knows "more" ;-)
