UPC with 12 digits - need leading 0 to get 13 digits?

Hello,
some UPC are only 12 digits long. I noticed that in some cases two identical DVDs are contributed - one of them with a leading zero.

Example: DVD 'Wasabi' RC2,Germany with
828765-017091 and 0-828765-017091
On the cover are only 12 digits ...

Perhaps it would be a nice feature to add leading zeros to avoid multiple contributions.
Feature request for the next update ...

Hi,

a general use of EAN may be one way to deal with that problem.
AFAIK the EAN with leading 0 inherit all UPC-A Codes.
