Review scores - 'zero' and 'a half' |

| | Posted: | | | | Not sure if everyone else uses this feature, but I always 'mark' my titles after viewing them using the review feature. My kids find this amusing, always wanting to know (with a p%*@ taking smile) after the film whether it's a 3 or a 3 1/2  I have never understood why it starts as 1 bar?, what happened to the half point? You can choose 1 1/2, or 2 1/2? so the half is possible  It's a bit like asking someone to score a film out of 10, but saying it must have a minimum of 2. Going further, there are some films and dvds I would mark zero if I had a choice. Unfortunately if you do not choose a bar, then it does not show as being marked zero in your graphs. Feature request.... 1/2 a bar option + A choice to choose zero bars, perhaps if chosen a zero or a cross would show in the box? PS strangely, if you run your mouse over an unmarked title review box, it will show a 'score' of 0.5 but not a half bar  | | |  | | | | Last edited: by hayley taylor |

Figured I've been doing it on IMDb for a long time now, so may as well be doing it in my Profiler too. So in theory, I would support a complete rating system that includes all options from 0 to 5 inclusive in 0.5 increments. However, in practice, any film that I watched which I thought was a 0-1.5, wouldn't actually get rated in my Profiler anyway because I'd remove it right away from my collection and stick it in my 'for sale' box! 2-2.5 films wouldn't last that long either - I tend to just hold on to some of them in case they improve on a second viewing or because they contain certain cool scenes. What if you have an excellent movie... a movie you want to give a 4.5 or maybe even a (gasp) Perfect 5 rating to... but then the only extra is something like filmography for the main star(s).... something that in someone's opinion could be barely more then nothing at all... So maybe I would want to give Movie: 4.5 Audio: 4 Video: 4 Extras .5 or maybe I pick up one of those $1.00 DVDs at Dollar Tree or something... again I love the movie.. but the quality purely sucks... but yet this could be the only option to have the movie... so I want to keep the movie... but want to give the movie a 4 to 5 rating but the audio and video I want to give a .5 to. So as you can see there is justified reasoning to have a .5 rating... so if it is at all possible I am 100% behind it! | | | | Pete |

Movie: 4.5
Audio: 4
Video: 4
Extras .5

I never bother using half marks anyway. In regards to extras I use the 1 or 2 score to denote how many extras there are, because that normally relates to exactly how worthy they are! One trailer? And after watching one of the worst DVDS in my life, would welcome the ability to add minus 5 to possible 'scores'
