I had been having issues with upc's for a while. I never noticed it had corrupted my online collection.
its at the point that it need to be redone.  I have my copy of collectorz I can dump my collection
to.  so my question is "do you have a tool do do a mass load?  about 1250 to do even with my
bar code scanner not going to make the todo list any time soon.  with fathers day coming up I'm getting pressure to get an accurate online collection posted.  when I try to bring up the software
it says the DB is corrupt.

I have been avoiding this until today.  when I looked in the forum I saw the traffic about the changes.
have to say just bringing the new version up made me tingle.  I must say I'm looking forward to working with it.

thanks

First thing to do obviously is make sure you have a full backup.  Then run all the fix-it tools on the database to see if that clears up anything.  I don't think you can corrupt the on-line itself, but your local db certainly can be.

If everything looks OK, make another backup - saving it under a different name.

Get your copy of 3.0 installed and registered, and then restore from the second backup you made.

If that doesn't work, better start putting some mileage on that barcode scanner!

I'm afraid the UPC problem had been going on for a bit before I noticed it had affected the online
collection.  I tried the tools but they just say db corrupt.  what I'm hopping for is someone who
has a script or a utility to convert from collectorz to DVD Profiler or a script or utility to load UPC's
into DVD Profiler.  redoing them by hand means the program goes on the shelf for a while.
in the years I have been using this batch loading has come up many times.  this would be a very
useful tool for promoting this software to others with large collections who want to buy it.

Here's a link to a program that claims to import UPCs into DVD Profiler:

here

But please note, I have not tried it myself. Hopefully it'll speed things up for you.

This imports into 2.4/2.5 ... V3.0.2.x can import a DB saved from a 2.4/2.5
