In one episode of Star Trek - TNG Brent Spiner played several roles
1. Lt. Commander Data (credited in the opening credits)
2. Lore / Dr. Soong (in the end-credits)

how should we list these 3 roles in the cast-lists?
I personally would prefer Option 3, because he acted in 3 different roles, so there should be 3 seperate entries for that...

Looking forward to you decision...

Not having looked, mad

If he is double billed withe separate roles then list as such, which is what it appears to be with one credit in the opening for his permanent role and one in the end for his "guest starring" role. Two entries Lore / Dr. Soong

Option 3 is user interpretation and does not follow the Rules.

IMHO it's not really mentioned in the Rules how to handle this case...

I too would go for Option 3, as I think it would appear tidier when viewing in the cast list.

Personally, I would like to see them split up and listed separately as the cast list now happily allows you to do this, but in this particular case I would have to agree with Skip and say option 2, as this is how the rules indicate it should be done.

This is "as credited" and is better than how we would have used to have listed it (option 1) in v2.x
Gavin.

What don't you understand

"with names and roles listed exactly as they are in the credits and in exactly the same order credited"

Option 3 is your interpretation and does not follow the above

Hmm, I may have made a mistake in a profile I just submitted. Is there a way to take back your submission?
This was my first submission other then a new scan, or a new title. If not I expect No votes that will correct me. (And I even printed out the rules, I just may have misread them.)

If you need to withdraw a submission you just go to My Profiler... Contributions to see your list of contributions... then click the title... and under the title will come up... your notes and a withdraw link.

Just make the correction and resubmit. It will automatically go over the top of the older one. Or if you want, you can go to Contributions via My Profiler, clicking on the title of the DVD will give you the Withdraw option.

On the topic I have to vote for option 2... if it is in the credits as "Lore / Dr. Soong" Then that is the way it should be in DVD Profiler as the rules state characters has to be exactly as in the credits too.

The only time I would go away from that and split them up is if there is not enough room and the character names get cut off... then I feel it is better to separate them and get both credited names in that way.

So it's:

Brent Spiner ... Lt. Commander Data
Brent Spiner ... Lore / Dr. Soong"

vs.

Brent Spiner ... Lt. Commander Data
Brent Spiner ... Lore
Brent Spiner ... Dr. Soong

Both variants are conform with "with names and roles listed exactly as they are in the credits and in exactly the same order credited", because the Names (in case "Brent Spiner") and the roles (in case Data, Lore, Dr. Soong) has exactly the typo as in the credits, and they are exactly in the same order...

Mad:

What don't you understand, its not hard the On Screen credit tells you how to handle it. Domn't apply your personal preference or Opinion. I see things all the time that I might do differently but the rules tell me what to do if I want to Contribute the data. It's NOT hard.

IF Option 2 is how it reads On Screen then that is how you do it.

Actually that is not exactly as credited in the end creidts.. Only "Lore / Dr. Soong" Would be exactly as in the end credits.

If you break them up they are no longer exactly as in the credits.

This is how I would do it...though I wouldn't include the rank, but that is just my personal preference.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.
