You guys with, & those that went to the metric system ( meters, kilograms etc.) why did you leave time out? Couldn't you divide the world into 10 time zones. One hour = 100 min, one minute = 100 seconds.

Rico Stupidity mainly... but at least we made it some of the way  Too bad evolution didn't give us 12 fingers as well - metric using the 12 number system would have been pretty neat | | | Regards

Petrol is sold by the litre, but car stats quoted as miles per gallon, distance is measured in miles Orange juice is sold by the litre, but milk by the pint beer is sold by the pint in pubs, but metric in tinnies & those 25cl bottles from Tesco! Being an old buqqer (but not quite as old as Maurice) , I have the air-con in the car set in Farenheit (it winds the kids up!!) , but I DIY in millimeters. For the satellite to the left, we have kit built in Atlanta....the drawings from those fine chaps are usually dimentioned in inches, & torques in foot-pounds, which we then have to translate to mm & Nm for our French integration team. One of their more recent drawings sets had one set of torque figures in Imperial, and one line below, another set in metric.....but I've finally managed to persuade them to change to metric...(thanks Tommy W., I owe you for that one!).....
