Hi,

I just heard of DVD Profiler, and I was wondering some things.

I currently use Movie Collector from collectorz.com, but I'm not satisfy with it. I want to upload my movie database online, and that I can search trough my database from anywhere. My current program only let's me export one long list.

Then I heard that this program let's you do that. So I was wondering, what are the features of html export? And is there a way that I can tranfer my current database to DVD profiler? Since I have 1000+ movies, it takes a long time if I had to re enter everything.

(Sorry if it's in the wrong place on the forum. Since these are more technical questions, I thought this was the best place to ask my questions.)

Thanx in advance.

DVDProfiler (DVDP) has no direct HTML output. However, you can export an XML file and use 3rd party tools to create a website (such as phpDVDProfiler or phpMyProfiler). Also DVDP supports an upload to the Invelos server. It looks like this.

For importing a foreign database, there are two ways: You can use a barcode scanner (like CueCat). The other way would be that you need to export the UPCs/EANs from your previous program. Then you can import this list with another 3rd party program (I forgot the name - help anyone?) to import it into DVDP.

The UPCs program does not work with Version 3 of DVDProfiler. I was going to update it, but someone wrote a plugin to do it much better than my hack.

I was actually aware of that

Somehow I thought I had read, that Karsten meant to import into 2.4 first, and then porting over to 3.x

Which plugin is that? I recall reading abut it, but don't remember where.

It's cleverly hidden in the Plugin forum. Not quite as safe as hiding it in a readme, but still it should be quite ok.
