I think it would be a very good idea to have a thumbnail (if available) of the DVD on the page when evaluating someone's contribution.

With so many releases of the same film on DVD it's sometimes difficult to figure out which version you are going to be voting on.

All we have to base our vote on is the title of the DVD, it's UPC # and locality.

You must have a lot of double-dips

LOL... I was thinking the same thing... It would be of no help to me personally... but I wouldn't care if it was there.

I think what Cubby was meaning is the same title ie
Italian Job - Michael Caine
Italian Job - Mark Walberg

If the voting page just says Italian Job and you have both versions which are you checking?

I don't really own many double-dips, but I do have many in my wishlist.

Anyways, I own the old 2 disc edition of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, I recently checked and there is a contribution for Close Encounters of the Third Kind: The Collector's Edition in which they are updating the cover type.

I don't want to either go and pull out the disc out of my shelf just to check it, or to actually start DVD Profiler just to check out which one it's referring to.

So it would be of some help to have a thumbnail of the DVD so that people know which version the contribution is about.

But I guess it would also be of use for films with the same name as well.

On my profile page I can see what DVDs I recently purchased. While I think it's rather pointless feature to have on a users profile page, I still think it would be better to have thumbnails on the evaluation page.

Since I just confused the DVD version of a movie with a Blu-Ray version (I own both), I could use this.

It's happened to me, too.  Say for instance, Cat People [Nastassja Kinski] - I own two releases and have to refer to Profiler to tell me which one I'm voting for.

Regardless of what CubbyUps meant, I think it's a good idea.

I don't own a lot of double-dips but I do own several films with the same titles. For example, I own all three versions of King Kong (1933, 1976 and 2005). So unless the contribution contains cast or crew it can be very difficult to know which version I'm voting on.
