| Posted: | | | | I thought I had seen this before, but this time I am positively sure. I had done a submission for every one of the 9 X-Files boxes. All 9 submissions were released last night. However, when I just did a "Refresh Updated Profiles..." some of them were not in the list of modified profiles. Wondering whether the missing ones were actually released, I tried to submit such profile again, but the changes were indeed already in the master database.
What I'm now wondering is whether this can also occur for new releases that are not my own submissions. If that would be the case, it would mean that I am missing updates. Anyone else seen this? |

Unfortunately I have now proof this is happening as well . I wanted to add the Slipcover flag to the Casino 2-disk R2 edition. However, when I came to the submissions webpage, it said there were no changes and I noticed that someone else setting this slipcover flag was already approved on Sep.3. So I never got this update when doing a "Refresh Updated Profiles..." . |

If the former the update might have been lost because your database wasn't able to store the information. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

Excellent point, which refers to another question I had when the Slipcover submissions started showing up before the actual 3.1 release. I never installed any of the betas and was indeed wondering what would happen with those updates that contained info not yet supported in 3.0. If indeed those updates are lost, this is something Ken should really look into, since I don't think you can demand your users upgrading to all betas before the actual release. |

The changes were not lost. The changes were not made in your local database, but once you update the program and refresh the profile, you will get the additional data that is in the online database. If you were not on the beta, and you changed a profile that had specific 3.1 changes, you would lose those 3.1 changes. Those that were submitting 3.1 changes before the beta was final were aware of the possibility of having to resubmit the changes once the beta was final. -Gerri | | | Invelos Software, Inc. | Posted: | | | | I still think that occasionally something is wrong with the updates. I have another example, although it is again with the Slipcover flag. Lion King: Locality Netherlands, UPC 8-711875-960345. I wanted to add the Slipcover flag, but upon submission I get a page that there are no differences detected. Then I notice that Martin Zuidervliet already submitted this on August 31. There is however no indication (green text) that his submission was approved or released. But I know that it usually only takes a few days for Invelos to release submissions. So I tried to force a download new profile, and indeed, the flag was already there. Yet, in the contribution history, there is no sign at all from Martin's submission. |

I still don't feel very confident about getting the updates, so I'll keep a hawk eye on it the next coming weeks . E.g. I am now offered an update for the X-Files Season 7 box, while the only changes I see are in fact reversals of the (still pending) changes I did myself. So I'm just skipping it for now until my submission is released. If I see anything weird, be sure I'll report it . (BTW, again wondering whether it has anything to do with that other support issue I have - don't know if you've managed to look at the screenshot yet?). |
