| Posted: | | | | I notice that new region 2 discs do not seem to be in the database any more. Any reason for this??? Is profiler becoming a region 1 only database??? |

Can you name an example (EAN/UPC and country) for a profile that you're missing? | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | As DJ Doena wrote, the users "feed" the online database. If you're shure that you own dvd releases which are currently not in the database, you can contribute if you follow the RULESIf you are now missing dvd's which have been previously in the database, there could be a reason for deleting them (e.g. bootlegs). | | | Thorsten | | | Last edited: by kahless |

Are you using Version 3 of DVD Profiler? Because if you are still using Version 2.4/2.5 that database has not been updated since 3.0 came out... and won't be since 2.5 database don't work with version 3. | | | Pete |

As I already wrote, (which owned me flames), the question is "Why profiles as "300" UPC 7321950736621 or "Spider-man 3 Collector" UPC 3333297199544 are missing? I remember a time were such titles were contributed by 4 or 5 different contributors the very day they were released... | | | Images from movies |

| Posted: | | | | Again, Yves!!!!!!!!!!! You refuse to Contribute because we won't let you do things the way YOU want them done, yet you persist in whining because titles aren't in the Program for you. You would probably find it less ulcer-producing and more enjoyable if you would contribute instead of carping. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

I think you have much more contributors in Germany than we have in France, probably because there are more German people that speak correct english than Frenchies, so that they understand the rules and can write contribution notes. I do not know the nationality of Mark1999, but it seems the problem is not only in France (except if he is French). But I also think that the question I ask has sense. Spider-man 3 is a mega hit in stores, and nobody to contribute ??? | | | Images from movies | | | Last edited: by surfeur51 |

As Skip already asked, why don't you make the contribution yourself? @surfeur51: He's right you know. Since it is an "initial" contribution you don't really need to worry about the contribution rules. Nobody can vote against you. And a bad profile is infinite times better than no profile. And if someone cares he can contribute corrections according to the rules. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

Maybe it's because more and more people are no longer purchasing at the release date. I am usually waiting a few months, because by that time the price has dropped a lot. This might be a reason why it takes longer for the new titles to enter the database. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

Maybe it's because more and more people are no longer purchasing at the release date. Many people wait, but there are still many people who buy such hits very quickly. And when we see the number of those DVDs on the shelves of supermarkets, I doubt it is the explanation. Another example, "Fur" UPC 3512391326678, the last Kidman's release in DVD several months ago, has still not been contributed. Perhaps not a mega hit, but a real success... | | | Images from movies |

As Skip already asked, why don't you make the contribution yourself? I didn't answered "Liar Liar" because I'm fed up with this annoying guy, and he perfectly knows the answer. So there is no need to explain that again and give him a new occasion to say once more that I'm whining. | | | Images from movies |

Since it is an "initial" contribution you don't really need to worry about the contribution rules. Nobody can vote against you. Before we had to state that we follow rules in contributions notes, I contributed nearly 400 profiles. The only crime against rules was to correct spelling mistakes, to put main cast at the beginning of the list when in order of appearance or in alphabetic order, and to rewrite overviews that are advertisements or spoilers. When those profiles were changed, it was generally to complete CoO that came after... It would be easy to lie to screeners as I don't think they will verify in french on DVDs they have not. But since the rules are considered to be strictly followed, I cannot contribute anymore. | | | Images from movies |

But it does sound like whining when you keep asking why no one ELSE is contributing these popular titles when you are unwilling to do so yourself. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? Not quite true, Surfeur - you will not contribute any more, there's a difference. Why don't you simply contribute the parts of the profile, where you agree with the rules? |
