| Posted: | | | | I'm not sure if I uderstand well. But if you talk about your "collection list" window :
To list by alphabetic order :
1 - Select Collection on the menu 2 - select "reassign collection number" 3 - in the box choose "all collection number" and order by title
It will use the sort title (you can change it in the edit profile window)
For the genre it's because only the first one is use (you can change it too in the edit profile window)
Hopes that's help! If not don't hesitate to ask again |

On your main list (to the left by default), just click on the Title heading. That will sort them alphabetically. Click it again to sort them in reverse. There's no reason to re-assign collection numbers. That will work in most cases. But you might find some things don't show up where you might expect them to. If you want to sort something elsewhere, go to the Personalize screen (right click on the title and pick Personalize from the popup). On that screen you should find a Sort Title. By default, it's the main Title. But you can change it to whatever you want. For example I modify mine for things like all the Matrix movies (to have them sort in their production order). I also change Sort Title on TV seasons so "Season Three" doesn't list before "Season Two". I'll do something like Deep Space Nine 1, Deep Space Nine 2, Deep Space Nine 3, etc. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. This is just a question of preference. That's how I do it, that's why the sugestion was this one. Not the short way but a way anyway |

Not the short way but a way anyway That is a way to do it if you have no use for collection numbers. I was fortunate enough to start using this system when I started collecting (I had about 30 at the time). So my collection numbers are actually the order in which I aquired my discs. So that's very valuable data (to me) and I wouldn't ever think of re-assigning collection numbers. But if you have no use for collection numbers, this would work. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

If most titles are sorting correctly and there's just a few out of place, I'd say check the Sort Title. If you're not getting any of them to sort alphabetically, then I think there's something else going on. It would help figure out the problem if we knew exactly what was happening and exactly what you're clicking on. A screenshot would be ideal. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. | Posted: | | | | After seeing the screenshot, it appeared that the sort titles were totally messed up. And that was later confirmed. That's why things weren't sorting alphabetically. It seems it used some tool to import his collection from elsewhere and somehow the sort titles didn't come through correctly. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.
