| Posted: | | | | Previous to version 3, there used to be a trick to sort child profiles out with the rest of the collection instead of in their place as box sets, by using a flag for box set parent, filtering on that and then not filtering on that flag. That doesn't seem to work version 3 any more. Am I missing something? Is there another way to do it now? | | | "This movie has warped my fragile little mind." |

| Posted: | | | | I just tested, and I am guessing you have your sort title set to something other than the film title.
In my test I changed the sort title of Dr. No (from the James Bond Ultimate Edition Volume 4 box set) from James Bond 01 to Dr. No and it sorted with the rest of the D titles. Before changing the sort title, all of my James Bond ## titles sorted in the J section. This behavior is the same in v2.5.
As long as the sort title is the film title, filtering out the parent profiles will cause the children to sort correctly with the remaining profiles.
Hope that helps. | | | Kevin |

| Posted: | | | | I have a tag set on all my box sets. So the parent profile for the Indy movies has a Box Set flag set (the child profiles obviously don't have the Box Set tag clicked or this wouldn't work). Then if I want my movies sorted with the rest of my collection, I can filter out box sets and the chilren profile will sort in with the rest of my collection based on their sort title.
I know it works in version 3 because I just did so earlier today.
I have a similar tag for my groups (TV, HD DVD, Blu-ray, Documentaries, etc). So if I filter out Groups, then everything ungroups and sorts in with the rest of the collection. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. | Posted: | | | | I'm clearly missing something. How do you filter out groups that have a tag? I can only get it to filter out things that don't have a tag. | | | "This movie has warped my fragile little mind." |

The "Tags" section in the filters are a tri-state checkbox. Default is "none", meaning the state of the tag is irrelevant. If you click it once, you filter all that have the tag set, you click again you filter all that have the tag _not_ set. If you click again you return to "none". Be aware that the AND/OR switch in the "Tags" section is set to OR by default. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | Got it! Thank you so much. Green arrow for you, or there would have been had I seen your post in time. | | | "This movie has warped my fragile little mind." | | | Last edited: by gardibolt |
