I'm stumped.  I contributed a Parent Profile for Season 7 of The West Wing that correct errors in the Cast list and added Crew list -- both by episode using dividers.

I also contributed the same Cast/Crew data for the child profiles.  These six discs were declined.  Maybe I didn't include enough documentation?  What I said was:

Quote:
Running Time:  130 min.
Summary of episode running times checked with PowerDVD

Features: Added Featurette:
"Countdown To West Wing Live: Anatomy of 'The Debate' (Episode 7)"

CREW:
AS CREDITED WIth Episode Dividers
Source:  End and Opening Credits

CAST:
AS CREDITED WIth Episode Dividers
Source:  End and Opening Credits

I didn't think I needed more documentation since I stated the source of my data (End and Opening Credits).

No one voted on the 6 child profiles.  As I recall the existing profiles didn't have ANY cast/crew data, running time, or the Featurettes (discs 2 and 7, I think).

My documentation for the Parent profile was similar, but I added an explanation that the existing profile included incorrect Cast/Crew data.

So I'm curious to know what was wrong with my Child profiles - and how I should beef them up.  The cast/crew data is exactly the same as in the approved Parent -- only they cover the episodes that are on the specific disc.

So, I'm puzzled.

no uncredited or common names managed to sneak in did they? or any BYs - they can sometimes be hard to spot?

what you could maybe do is now that the parent has been approved, resubmit with the comment:
"relevant cast and crew copied from recently approved parent profile"

There should be no difference in names between the parent and child profiles, and I just compared my child profiles with the online ones (using Preview Changes) and there are neither common names or BYs in any of the 6 child profiles nor the parent one.  What I did was use Goodguy's credit editor to fix the child cast/crew and then compiled all the disc data into the Parent profile so the cast/crew data are identical.

The only thing I can think of is I didn't explain where I got the role names since the opening credited actors don't show the role names.

I'll give it a couple of days to see if any answer comes from Gerri (just hoping) and if not, I'll resubmit using your "relevant cast and crew ... " comment.

If this is a single season, should there be child profiles at all.

If I read right the only time there should be parent/child profiles in TV series is if there are multiple seasons in one box.

If it is only season 7, then all casts and crew lists belong in one profile (seperated by dividers) then all the discs should be scanned into the disc ID list with proper descriptors...

This may be why the children were rejected...IMO

If this is a question (you didn't enter a ?) the answer is YES.

Skip posted while I was composing, but no, you don't read it right.  It is perfectly appropriate to do child profiles for single seasons of TV series.  It's done all the time.  The only thing in the rules about TV series is that the same data must be in both the Parent and Child profiles -- (which is exactly what I contibuted.)  The reason the data must be included in both parent and child profiles is to satisfy the two groups: one who wants to use child profiles and the other who doesn't want to.  Putting the data in both parent and child gives the user the option of deleting what he doesn't want (the child profiles or the cast/crew data in the parent).

FYI I wasn't the first person to contribute the child profiles for Season 7 -- they were already in the database.  What I did was add the cast/crew data to the pre-existing child profles.  If you were right that my contibution was denied since  , why weren't they denied when they were first contributed?

I Do apologize.

Not contributing any TV Series yet, a quick scan of the rules I missed the bottom section of the box.

It was a thought...

As they say it's the thought that counts, and I thank you for your suggestion -- even though it isn't the answser to my question.
