Just searching for words/expressions is possible with the browser functions. In Firefox and Internet Explorer you can use Strg+F.

Filtering and other functions like in the profiler programme may be a subject to a later release of Profiler Plus. But at the moment there's no particular release date for this. I think it'll be on a monday...

Why would the online need to be searchable? It is not intended to be a reference database.

Skip, if someone had a big collection it's easier to find something with a search. Not the title (you can sort them from # to Z actually), but for something more specific like by actors, directors, rating, genre, ...

Very usefull and phpdvdprofiler is really a model for the online presentation.

My collection as an exemple

I just jumped on to ask a similar question to this one...

It would be nice if I could click on Collection then Sort By, and choose Director as one of the options. Just like Genre, Title or Production Year, this shouldn't be that hard to implement. Drop in a new Director(s) space to the Edit Profile>General Information window and it's done.

If there were a place to do it, I'd enter the names myself. Maybe create a "Personal" undesignated catagory in the Basic Info window, where a person could add their catagory of choice (Director names, actor names, shoot locations, etc.), and could be linked with the Sort By function is an option.

I know I'd use it!

Try phpmyprofiler or
phpdvdprofiler.

For the abilities of these check the link that AESP-pres gave.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

AESP-pres' site looks great! I will try to read up on the other two links one evening, but I'm guessing it's over my head or beyond my capabilitiy to upload somewhere.

At this point I'd rather just see a search option on my personal DVD Profiler. Having the public list page more user friendly and interactive would be nice too, but I'm more concerned about me right now.

I wouldn't expect it, capo, It seems like all this kind of stuff relative to the Online takes away the reason for the local database which is where you can search your data.

Don't get me wrong, I want this "search" or sort ability (by Director) as part of my DVD Profiler, for my use, not on the online collection page.

I'm not sure if this is what you want? Il give it to you anyway:
from the filters windows (if it is not there [Ctrl][f] would show it)
select the 'Crew' tab (above)
at the bottom you have the entry field, type here part of the name of the director like 'caru'
under the item Crew Member it will now show all the crew members like
D. J. Caruso
D.J. Caruso
Elius Caruso
mark the name box in front of the name you're after (D. J. & D.J. Caruso  ) in this case
in the "Collection List" window it will now show the titles with those Crew members
Select the title where he is as director (checkable in the Cast/Crew window select the Crew tab)
if you now in the 'Crew' window clicik on the 'Crew Information' it will open a window with (his/her) movies and show under the name if it was as director or not.
hope this was of any help to you?
Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. Please include the sources for your changes in the contribution notes, especially for cast and crew additions.

That is just what I wanted to do, but didn't know that was the way to do it. Thank you!

Ok, Capo, what Giga described has always been available through your local, if that was what you wanted you should have said so, but you specified the Online. And I repeat...not likely.

Hmm? He specifically stated "not on the online page."

I admit I thought he meant online too, since he posted in a thread concerning the online, but nowhere did he actually state that's what he wanted. Quite the opposite.

He also used my Personal Profiler, which says something specific to me. This website has a section called My Profiler, Astrakan. Which indicated to me that he wanted to be able to search oin that. And that is not likely. His local is something else entirely.
