I've been out of town and away from my PC so I didn't see the logo.  Was it that hard to recognize as a turkey and not a chicken?  They don't look a bit alike, after all.

I don't know about that. I, too, thought it was a chicken on first glance before I realized it was a turkey. Maybe because Canadian Thanksgiving is on a different day than U.S. Thanksgiving and I didn't have turkey on the brain.

Do Canadians eat turkey on their Thanksgiving or is there a different traditional meal?

I missed the Holiday Logo too. Google does the same sort of thing frequently sometimes it's hard to read "Google" but it makes you ponder what the heck they are trying to celebrate.

Yeah, turkey is the traditional Thanksgiving meal but I do believe a fair number of families have ham instead. Although it should be noted that Thanksgiving is FAR from as big a deal here as it is in the States. In some provinces it's not even a statutory holiday.

When Google does it, just click on the logo and it will tell you. Or just hover over it, and a caption will appear.
