| Posted: | | | | At the moment if you need to put a break in a cast list you have to use a blank divider like this i would like to be able to put a blank space instead so you don't get that horrible blue line in the cast list (yea i know, i put it in the wrong place ) Also it would be nice if you could have the option to make dividers "Invisible" so only the text in the divider shows and not the divider itself | | | Last edited: by ninehours |

You can't use credit entries: Quote: Do not include artificial actor entries to act as separators between cast lists. (e.g. "--JAPANESE CAST--"), instead use the Divider feature for this. but some people do use blank dividers to demarcate the bottom of a section. I find it, as the pictures above show, ugly and don't keep them locally but they generally don't, in and of themselves, get voted against. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

Just to make this clear, I'm not talking about the text dividers but the empty ones. I don't see the rules mentioning we have to profiles gaps in the credits at all. | | | - Jan | | | Last edited: by hydr0x |

I fully support the ability to insert a blank line in the credits. Another reason why dividers are not suitable for group roles. I'd rather see a real group role feature request than this one. |

The rule says: Quote: Do not include artificial actor entries to act as separators between cast lists. (e.g. "--JAPANESE CAST--"), instead use the Divider feature for this. In this case we need to separate an unrelated group of cast from a named group. Like Unicus says, if we don't use a blank divider it would look like the people following the named group were part of that group when they aren't. The credits put space between groups, so why shouldn't/can't we? | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I know this film, The Dark Crystal, and the cast list is seperated into different groups. This type of cast list, in my opinion, is exactly what the dividers were meant for. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. I find here the same non desirable drifting than bold and italics in overviews. We are no more profiling movies, it's becoming credit fetichism... Why not just put screenshots of credits in photo gallery ? At least, there will be no more discussions to know if it has been correctly reproduced... | | | Images from movies | | | Last edited: by surfeur51 |

You are free to speak for yourself but be careful, some of yoir comments of late seem to sound like you believe you speak for more than yourself.
If Ken decide to use screenshots we will do that. In the meantime....

| Posted: | | | | If we were to use screenshots, they would need to fill up the entire screen to be readable (and I'm sure for some movies that are encoded at lower quality, or the credits use a very small font, they will never be readable). So in my humble opinion, screenshot are useless. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

I just said that people were taking the way to reproduce credits as on screen, and the ultimate step of this direction is screenshots... I'm waiting for the moment we'll have requests to reproduce song credits or anything else in end credits that are not yet in dvdprofiler... | | | Images from movies | | | Last edited: by surfeur51 |
