| Posted: | | | | Hi there, it's lazy guy again! Situation: You just bought a new TV season and you are a disc profiler. You enter the EAN/UPC and find the box but no one has entered the child profiles yet. So you insert all the discs in your drive, measure the runtime and add them to DVDP. And now comes the tedious part: You have to copy the genres, the regions, the CoO, the prod year, the studios, the aspect ratio, the audio tracks, the subtitles, .... from the parent profile into the childs. But except for exceptions it's always the same as in the parent box. Surely there has to be a way to make that easier. Now there is: the new plugin Initialize TV Show Child Profiles. You have added the child profiles to the box, you select the box, you select the menu entry "Initialize TV Show Child Profiles" under the root menu "DVD" and copy&paste does its job. | Posted: | | | | Thanks! I'll give this a try when I get home. I've been doing a bit of TV shows lately and this should help. |

| Posted: | | | | Nice companion to "Clone Children from DiscIDs" of BulkEdit. Hope to see more cool plugins from you down the road. Just for information (not to hijack this thread , just to help answer any questions of how is this same / different from ... whatever). Personally, I think users like options, even when they overlap in funtionality. "Clone Children from DiscIDs" was added to BulkEdit in response to a user's request. What it will do is create a profile for each disc in a profile, copy the profile infomation, then add the created profiles as children. It is then up to the user to appropriately verify the profile data before submission. You can apply the operation to a set of flagged profiles, and the field selection panel is a virtual clone of the "cut/paste" panel. You are also given the option to add a tag to the cloned profiles. So, I think mine is different from both DJ's new baby and also "cut/paste" - plenty of room for all. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Excuse me for being dense here, but isn't that what the Copy and Paste commands are for under the DVD menu? What does this plug-in do that copy/paste doesn't? | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

Situation: You just bought a new TV season and you are a disc profiler. You enter the EAN/UPC and find the box but no one has entered the child profiles yet. Could you please stop contributing these profiles which add absolutely zero value to boxsets that already have fully / almost fully audited child profiles! I'm using (again) my time for fixing child profiles for "Alias", this time season two UK. Your "contribution" removes overviews, Cast & Crew etc. If you like to add something to db, please ADD do not remove! Thank you... |

I have very rarely contributed cast and crew but I have never removed any of it. Nor have I ever even touched overviews. Most of child profiles I contribute haven't been in the database yet. Now they are with the correct title, correct cover scans, correct prod year and CoO, a correct runtime and genres. The rest ist up to someone who cares about studios and so forth. But I never removed data from them (How could I when there even wasn't a profile before?). | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

At least Alias Season 1 UK 5017188888752 and Alias Season 2 UK 5017188813235 had full child profiles with overviews, Cast & Crew, Features etc. After your contribution the link for those was lost using "Check for child profiles" function. |
