I've been doing the Finnish Jussi Awards with the Award Editor and I'm almost finished but found now a problem with the editor. I have tried to fill the "Movie Year" in the editor for every movie title, as this is necessary for the plugin to find the title if the award has been given several years later than the movie was made. For example Charles Chaplin is a "Foreign Winner of Jussi" in 1974 for Modern Times (1936) and The Great Dictator (1940).

Now the problem I'm having with the Award Editor is that it first saves the movie years correctly in the award file, but after I change the award year or close the editor and come back later, the "Movie Year" in the editor always shows the award year and not the movie year I had previously filled and saved. Now, when editing the awards again,  the editor may change the movie years back to award year. This is very annoying as the previously filled and saved movie year should show when opening the editor again. Has Tom or anybody noticed this and is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? The Award Editor I'm using came with Cinematic Collection Viewer 2.2 (beta) Build: 1138 and the plugin for DVDP is version 1.5.

Happy New Year to everybody!
Markku

I hadn't noticed it yet. Thanks for the head's up
I have fixed it now.
I will send you a link to the current beta version, which will be released after DVD Profiler 3.6 has gone final.

Thanks for yor quick reply and for the new beta, it seems to handle the movie years correctly now.

Now that the Award Editor has the "Movie Year" box and it is working correctly, I would like to suggest to change also the plugin so that it will show only a movie with a match to original title + movie year (=the exact year, no year range). If the movie years are all included in the award files, the plugin would always find the right movie and the awards of Titanic (1997) would not pop up with Titanic (1996).

Could this be considered when the new CCViewer is released?

Thanks for the great tools.

I have adjusted the algorithm for the award lookup in CCViewer beta (same link I have sent you). If it works satisfactory, I will include the same change in a future version of the plugin.
Although "Titanic" 1996 vs 1997 should not cause any problems anyway, because the original title for the 1996 version is "The Titanic"

OK, will check it.

Where have you got that info from? Everywhere I have looked at it (IMDb, BFI, Elonet (Finnish database)) it shows as "Titanic" and this is how it is also in the credit block on my DVD:s back cover?

I'll have to check the opening credits again. My German DVD release has "The Titanic" on the front cover and in the credit block on the back.

I guess you are correct. The opening credits only say "Titanic".
