Hi, Everytime I ctrl+insert to add a new title (even if I do it twice within an hour) the Inetnet Database Connection download 10 x 1.92mb files.. I would have thought once in a while but everytime seems weird?
Anybody else this happens to?

Hmmm..... the reason for such a large download is supposed to be when you update to a newer version or build of Profiler. The database info is downloaded automatically the first time so that it can match and work with features that have been added or changed.

But it should only do that once.

Any future updates, unless you wait years and there are no further updates to the program shouldn't be anywhere near that large.

My only suggestion at the moment is to try a database repair and hope that fixes it. If not, let us know. Try it out, and even if it downloads the 19MB of files again, you may have to wait a full day when the daily database update has occurred.

Options -> Utilities -> Repair Profile Database
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

He who MUST get the last word in on a pointless, endless argument doesn't win. It makes him the bigger jerk.

Just for grins you could download the software and re-install. I had one machine that I could have sworn was up to date last week, but it took a re-install to get the system happy. It only takes a couple of minutes even if my theory is baloney.

It could also be that your online profile list is corrupt.

On Vista and Windows 7 its located here:
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\DVD Profiler    (username must be replaced with the name you use to login to windows)

Rename OnlineList.dod and OnlineListSel.dod to *.OLD

Then goto online --> refresh online profile list

PS. On Windows XP it's located In C:\Documents and Settings\\Username\Application Data\DVD Profiler if I'm not mistaken.

Same problems here. I found files called

OnlineList1310.dod_0
OnlineList1310.dod_1
OnlineList1310.dod_2 etc.

in the \DVD Profiler\Import folder. Deleted the files, and now DVD Profiler seems to work fine again.

You seem to have some serious file rights problems. Either directly with Windows itself or another program that screws things up. First the database file that was always reversed, now the OnlineList...

Yup, something is pretty messed up. With literally hundreds of programs installed that all work flawlessly, I doubt that I have serious problems with my OS. When I updated to DVD Profiler 3.0 I kept Profiler 2.6 in a parallel installation for a while. This probably caused some problems. A fresh installation of Profiler 3.6 would be a good idea I guess.

Since when have "literally hundreds of installed programs" ever worked with any Windows?

It takes all of 3 - 5 minutes. I wonder why you haven't done it by now.
