Up to this point I tried to scan 10 barcodes. None were recognized even though pic2shop by itself seems to have no problems finding the correct titles. The problem seems to be that in connection with the DVDProfiler-App the first numeral of the code is not recognized...

Any solutions?

I just tried with two random DVDs (one Locality UK, one DE), and it worked great.

Are you sure the scanned titles are available in Invelos' online database? And is the locality set to "Any Locality" ?
EDIT: just tested, the locality filter works, so you have to set it correctly or choose "Any Locality".

EDIT2: OK, there's a problem with 12-digit UPC codes. Like you wrote, DVD Profiler adds a zero as first digit. If you delete it and press Search, the title is found (at least with my example).

I tried both German and UK Discs and none work. Locality is set to "Any."

For example: Sieben (Seven) - German Platinum Edition.

When I enter the UPC (4012050133269) manually it works flawlessly and I am able to find the correct DVD. When I try to scan the barcode however, the first numeral 4 is missing, making the UPC 012050133269 - with no results...

Oh yeah, and the app crashes right after I try to tap "Add Custom Entry" and no results are found...

iPhone 4 btw...

We both have "Die fetten Jahre sind vorbei: Doppel Deluxe Edition" (8-28766-89029-7). It works for me, the first digit is a zero but the title can be found.

Another one we both have: Volver (8-86970-10539-2). Doesn't work here, a zero is added but no search results.

I'm clueless... and curious about your results...

iPhone 3GS here, iOS 4.1.0. Doesn't crash with custom entry. Did you use a real EAN and matching locality?

Okay... So it works with "Die fetten Jahre sind vorbei"

"Volver" doesn't work either over here.

Strange.

But great to see that it's not my fault. :D

"Custom entry" only crashes when I tap it right after no results are found. Try searching for "Volver" and then tap "Custom entry" on the "No Results"-page...

The barcode scanning issue has been resolved. Please try again now and let me know if you have any further difficulties.  Note: It is not necessary to download the program again, just retry your scans.

The "Custom Entry" issue will require a program update.  In the mean time, as found above, selecting "Add by Custom Entry" on the main add page works fine.

Not quite, here's "The Other Matrix":  ( )

leading zero + Germany => no result
leading zero + Any Locality => no result
no leading zero + Germany => German Profile
no leading zero + Any Locality => German & Swiss Profile

EDIT: that's for Volver (886970105392.5).

For Die fetten Jahre sind vorbei (828766890297.5) every combination results in the correct German profile getting displayed.

Big Nothing (687797118097):

leading zero + USA => no result
leading zero + Any Locality => no result
no leading zero + USA => US Profile
no leading zero + Any Locality => US Profile

I'm also still having the same issue.  The first digit is dropped and not found in the collection, but when you continue to add the item (already in the collection) it is found without problem.

The issue in the barcode scan has been fixed for 1.0.1.  We have modified the server search to find the records without the first digit in these cases, so the barcode scan for adding records is working now.

Hi Ken, I tried this on my iPod Touch (4.2.1) with a number of existing DVDs from my collection.  Although pic2shop detected the code, the app did not recognise them as being in my collection. I should add that my entire collection was entered via the PC version using the barcode info.
