Why do some trailers come up with the message 'Embedding disabled by request Watch on YouTube' which just brings up the browser?

Thanks

That means whoever uploaded it to YouTube set it so that you can only watch it on YouTube

What a ridiculous option for YouTube. People WANT their videos on YouTube to get views. Disabling embedding means they will get LESS views. Only an idiot would deliberately disable embedding for public videos.

Not everyone wants maximum hits. The most common use is when you don't want people to view the video without reading the info bar for context, but I doubt that's a factor with trailers.

Some people want you to see their user name, to check out their channel and so forth.

And they sacrifice views for that. They could use annotations.

Will they be counted if it's embedded on another site?

And to be honest, I hate the red annotations. It's the first thing I disable when watching a YT video.
