Yes, that's why DVDP 3.0 tells you if it's running in the background (same as 2.5 did) and only runs if you disable the DVDROM read function.

Because it changes, on the fly, some of the flags set in the files on the DVD, and so it messes up the disc id, making it different than the real one.

The main issue is it changes the DirectX Disc ID.
