| Posted: | | | | After successfully installing .Net Compact Framework, the DVD Profiler Mobile application won't install. The installation fails with the warning,
[Invalid Windows CE Setup Files] Application Manager cannot install this application on your mobile device due to an invalid setup file. Reinstall and try again.
Trying again a few times doesn't fix it.
I even moved the DVDProfilerMobile.CAB directly to the device and tried to run it, but it gave a similar "The file "...DVDProfilerMobile.cab" is not a valid Windows CE Setup file." error
Anything I can troubleshoot? The mobile-side "Microsoft .Net CF 2.0.LOG" file completed successfully without errors.
I'm worried that the version of ActiveSync might be the issue here. Due to bugs in ActiveSync 4.x for non Windows Mobile 5 devices, I've had to stay on ActiveSync 3.8 |

| Posted: | | | | Yes, activeSync 4 is required. The installation is digitally signed (which is required for mobile 5.0 devices), and active sync 3.8 can't handle that with older devices. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |

I'll wait until my next device to upgrade to ActiveSync 4.x and use DVD Proviler Mobile. Too many issues with 4.x on my PPC 2003 SE device.
And congrats again on the new site and new firm to further DVD Profiler. Glad to see you and the program have come so far... |

| Posted: | | | | I'll see if I can work up an unsigned alternative for the 1.1 release. That should work ok in older versions of ActiveSync. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |

I'm having the same situation as dugn; upgrading to AS 4.* is not an option due to lots of problems (and in fact being a downgrade loosing several functions working with AS 3.8...). Any news about a version working with AS 3.8? Bye Peter |
