Hi everybody, I'm new here, just loading and cataloguing all my DVDs in this wonderful program.

I found a strange issue that I actually cannot explain, and I don't know how to manage it.
I own a DVD named "Il popolo migratore" (jaques Perrin).  On the cover is the following EAN Number:
9 771124 211702  (doubly checked!!! and also scanned with the iPhone App.)

Now if I type this in the "Add with EAN" input field I receive the existing DVD "Malizia" (Italy).

Is this possible?  If, as I believe, it is an error in the cover of the DVD, is there an online database of EANs where I could find the right EAN? And generally speaking, I do I add this DVD to my collection?  I definitely do not own "Malizia" :-)

Thanks a lot for your opinions and help
Claudio

Infortunately from time to time an EAN is used multiple times (especially by smaller distributors).

Since the EAN is the identifier of the program you have two options, both require you to enter all data yourself.

1) Add as a manual profile
Go to Add DVD -> By Name
Uncheck "Download profile from Invelos" (lower left corner)
Enter the title, region and locality
Add the profile

2) Add as EAN but lock it completly
Go to Add DVD -> Add by UPC
Uncheck "Download profile from Invelos" (lower left corner)
Enter the EAN title, region and locality
Add the profile
Right-click on the profile in the collection list and select Lock -> Entire DVD

With the desktop program you also have a third option: Add by disc ID.

(Unless that is already in use too of course.)

If this fails, try searching by title to find the closest available match. Also try searching outside your own locality to find other releases of the same title.

Hi Karsten,
thanks a lot!  I wasn't aware that I could deactivate the downloading from Invelos!
This will also help for two other disks with no EAN.
For some mysterious :-) reason, a few disks without EAN, although they work perfectly in my DVD player, do not provide any info when I put them in the DVD-reader of my (Vista) PC; actually the system does not recognize them at all.  That makes impossible to use the "Disc ID" option!.
Again, thanks a lot.
Regards from Switzerland
Claudio

Hi KinoNiki, thanks a lot: actually I was aware of the third option, but for some mysterious :-) reason, a few disks without EAN, although they work perfectly in my DVD-Player, do not provide any info when I put them in the DVD-reader of my (Vista) PC; actually the system does not recognize them at all and behaves exactly like as if there was no disk in the reader!
That makes impossible to use the "Disc ID" option!.
Thanks and best regards
Claudio
