| Posted: | | | | First, before someone feels the need to quote the rule, I'll post it here: Case TypeSpecify the type of packaging in which the DVD is released. There is further information about case types, images showing each type, and the opportunity to ask questions if unsure, in the Case Types thread in the forum – click hereThe question I have is if the original release had a slipcover but the current cover scan is NOT the Slipcover but of the cover. Should the Slipcover be ticked or not? On one hand if you look at the rules it was released with a Slipcover, so it should be marked as such. But the issue is if you tick the Slipcover Box then you lose the blu-ray banner of the current image. So is it more important to go by the initial release? Or go by what is actually in the database? | | | HDTV: 52" Toshiba Regza 52XV545U AVR: Onkyo TR-707 Speakers: Paradigm Monitor 7 v6, CC-190 & Atom Monitors Subwoofer: Definitive Technology ProSub 800 BD/DVD: Oppo BDP-93 (Region Free) HD PVR: Motorola DXC3400 500GB w/ 1TB Expander BD/DVD/Game: 250GB PS3 Slim DVD/Game: 250GB XBox 360 Elite Special Edition (Black) Game: Wii Remote: Logitech Harmony One w/ PS3 Adapter WHS: Acer H341 Windows Home Server |

Regarding the missing the banner: In the Profile Editor, section Coverscans you can manually en- or disable banners for each and every profile according to your preferences. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Thanks, I know I could really care less about what is in the online as I keep my local the way I want it. For releases that I own but am missing the slip cover, I've scanned the covers for my local and unchecked the Slipcover check box. However, of course I follow the rules when contributing. Thought it wasn't as straightforward as it seemed, but it appears I'm in the minority. | Posted: | | | | The blu-ray banner is not part of the image, it is a local setting. Personally I don't use media banners so it makes no difference to me but if you change the case type may I suggest that you also submit the correct cover at the same time. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | I never use the media banners either. Matter of fact I have them universally turned off for all profiles. Just looked for where that option is... but can't find it again. | | | Pete |

I thought about doing this, but decided to keep the scans and slipcover checked so I know which slips I'm missing. Then I can find em at pawn shops and used stores time to time, although only the pawn shop will sell me slips for a buck or 2 each, used makes you buy the whole thing. There's also trading slips which seems to be huge on blu-ray dot com. |

Being nosy are these slips that have a real difference in artwork to the actual cover? It's all of em, any you can think of someone probably wants. Cooler lenticular ones often cost more (like Watchmen or Incredible Hulk), but others that are the same as the covers but rare do get crazy (IMO) dollars too. So yeah, ones with different art than the covers, or some cool looking effect. are primo ones and more in demand/more money than ones with little to no difference most of the time. |
