For reasons of childhood nostalgia I have a copy of the Sir Lancelot series of childrens programs made in the 1950s (Episode 8 is called) The Magic Sword and the credits  gives the  "third knight" as Michael Scott. The database has this as Michael Caine [Michael Scott]. Caine [b1933] was called Michael Scott for a short time but changed it to Michael Caine because "there was already an actor called Michael Scott." The three knights are shown in the atteched picture. I am sure that Michael Caine is not in this episode. It think it was the "original" Michael Scott" (b 1932).

The Lancelot series was made by Granada (Sapphire Films for ITC) on the dvd box it has ITC Granada Ventures. Michael Scott b1932 worked for Granada for years. He did some bit parts but became a director and presenter

Unless someone can convince me that third knight was Michael Caine, which I doubt, I have added to my database Michael Scott [1932] and attributed the role to him. I have not contributed it, though, in case I am wrong but may well do later.

Yes, nice post, thanks. I think thought the "third knight" is the one of the three missing on your screen shot. I am sure none of those three is Michael Caine

The screenshot is a bit larger than intended - the scrollbar at the bottom of the post should let you see the knight on the right.

But here is his face.

This is what Michael Caine looked like around the age of 30 (person on the right)

I think it could be the same guy.

EDIT:
Took a peek at his official homepage.
He doesn't have this appearance listed, but several other mini-roles listed as "bit parts" around this time.
So it is most likely not the same guy.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

I agree it does not look like him.

Michael Caine did appear in another Sapphire Films production of William Tell. Which is listed on his official page.

I can't quite tell because of the quality of the pic.  However it not being on his official site is telling.

However Michale Scott 1932 (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1726281/)  is an Director/Producer with no Acting credits at all.  So I doubt it is him, it may be another.  But I doubt it is the one with a 1932 BY

Thanks SoylentDave, I am new to this forum and did not notice I could scroll your screen shot.

Looking at the photo again, you know I think it could well be Caine. Initially, looking at the DVD I was sure it wasn't I thought the face too long. But your screen capture says it might be.

Scooter, the other Michael Scott did do bit parts, from the link I posted above it says:

Securing his Equity card, Scott became an extra in films such as the wartime drama Above Us the Waves and the sci-fi classic The Quatermass Xperiment (both 1955). But he moved behind the scenes again when, in 1955, he secured a job as a trainee cameraman with the Rank Organisation, working in a cellar under the old Gaumont State cinema in Kilburn, north London.

However, I am now not sufficiently sure to say one way or another. If I find more evidence, I'll update.

Thanks to the helpful posts on this.

Just one more thing. None of the three knights sounded like Caine. The third one said, "We forgot our vows of chivalry." Very plausible admission but it did not sound like him.

Lewis_Prothero, I think it does look like the famous Michael Caine. I am now happy that it is him!
