It is possible to store cast/crew photos outside the actual database.

You can store them in the folder you have defined in Tools -> Options -> File Folders.

However, to the average user it is unclear how the file should actually be named to be properly displayed in DVDP.

Also, if you wish to store cast/crew images specific to that movie. For example you have a general adult Drew Barrymore picture (no, not adult Dru. Adult Drew! ) and now you want to have an E.T. Drew picture, you can create a folder inside the "Credit Photos" folder that has the name of the profile Id.

It would be great if DVDP either had the option to display the required names* or have an option to actually add the photos directly with the choice to either store a general photo or a movie specific photo.

* a) How would an average DVDP user find the correct locality suffix?
b) Where except in Dougweb's knowledge base would he find the naming information

I 'm not sure about what you want. It seems to me that we have already the choice. With a right click on a photo, you can put it as general photo (Paste), or as movie specific photo (Paste Custom). With Paste Custom, specific movie folder will be created automatically inside Credits Photo folder.

You're talking about two different ways to store the photos - outside vs. inside the database...

What bugs me more, is the missing photo indicator when you store the photos outside the database:

The indicator will not appear before you select the actor / crew member.
