What is the contribution stance on non-standard characters in titles?

I came across a title, [REC]⁴: Apocalypse, I cannot enter correctly because the character doesn't work. The reason for this that the superscript 4 is Unicode and DVDP does not support the Unicode character set. Now, the [REC] movies user a superscripted number to denote sequels. i.e. [REC]², [REC]³: Genesis and [REC]⁴: Apocalypse. The 2 and 3 both work because they are part of the ASCII character set, but the 4 is Unicode.

So the question is. Should the existing superscripted 2 and 3 titles be left, and the 4 use a standard 4 (i.e. [REC]4) or should they all be converted to standard numbers for consistency?

Yes.

That's absolutely how I'd do it.

If the titles are [REC]² & [REC]³: Genesis and we can properly enter them into the system that way, we absolutely should enter them properly, even if [REC]⁴: Apocalypse can't be entered properly. Entering parts 2 & 3 should have nothing to do with how part 4 is entered into the system.

It's annoying and unfortunate that Part 4 can't be entered properly, but that doesn't dictate how Parts 2 and 3 are entered, especially when they CAN be entered properly.

[REC]²
[REC]³: Genesis
[REC]4: Apocalypse

Is how they should be entered if this is the case.
The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play.
