Hi all,

Is there an easy way to list all dvd's that I own and which are not available in the online database.
The purpose is to then contribute that list of dvd's to the database.
Any idea's?

Regards,

Bert.

In the collection list text mode add the last edited column and sort from oldest to recent date. the one with the oldest date (before 14 march 2007) are most likely not in the online database.

Also the ones showing in your online collection without covers are most likely not in the online database
Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. Please include the sources for your changes in the contribution notes, especially for cast and crew additions.

I was wondering the same thing.  I can sort by "last edited". That's fine.  But I can't figure out how to add a "last edited" column to the List View layout, so I can actually see the date each title was last edited.

Can someone explain how to do it, or point me to a forum thread that explains it?

Cheers!

To add last edited to the columns, right-click on the list and select View Columns, then click on Last Edited.

Fantastic! Thanks, Ken. That old "right click" thing. Wow, what a wealth of options in that right-click menu!

I'm a Mac guy (running DVD Profiler under Virtual PC), so I'm not used to right-clicking. Macs (until very recently) have never had a right mouse button.

Virtual PC uses "control-click" in place of "right-click".

Very useful filter, I've just used it and uploaded a couple of dozen profiles that were not in the online dB.... note that they are pretty "vanilla" so I'd be grateful for some peer review...PM me or vote No for any errors (but give me enough clues how to correct the errors!!!) and I'll fix 'em.

Edit: I see that they've all (apart from one) got approved "on the nod" in less than half an hour (!), which is not exactly what I expected. Whilst I commend the speed of acceptance (are "new contibs" accepted automatically?) I'm a bit worried that any errors in my profiles might creep into the DB. So all I can say is if anyone finds errors then please either correct them or PM me and I'll deal with them.

Cheers

When you contribute a profile, if it is a NEW profile, you will not be taken to the contribution notes page, but instead, a little window will pop up in the right hand lower part of the screen saying "Contribution Accepted".  Sometimes a "new" contribution will not be approved because some other user has also submitted the same profile.

If you contribute something that changes an existing profile, you will be taken to the contribution notes page and you will be able to compare the information existing against what you submit, with a checkbox to select that part of the data you want to submit. Make useful comments, check the appropriate box and click Submit.
