Tough Scenario:
Will get the chance to work coming weekend on a second computer with a complete restored database (minus cover scans) from the main computer with data added till thursday evening. Please note, that there will also be changes made on the main computer's database from Friday on till Sunday by another person.

I want to make a backup of all changed profiles (flagged only) on Sunday evening to merge it later on to the main computer's database. I surely will also add new profile pics for cast and crew, new/changed birth dates and IMDb mined cast/crew from DJDoenas CCE2 plugin.

What's clear:
I will do a merge of the cast and crew databases using DJDoenas tool, to not lose the acquired data.

What's unclear:
When I select "Custom Backup" under "Backup" (with flagged items to backup only) what other checkboxes do I need to tick to back up all new data (including added headshots, which are directly dragged into DVDProfiler (no saving in seperate folder)) AND not to overwrite anything that was added on the weekend on the main computer's database?

When you restore your backup on Sunday, you need to select "restore selected profiles only"

As for the inserting of cast and crew data during the restore, I think it is the same as if you'd edit the profile or download it from online (i.e. new birth years are distributed and so on).

If in doubt, do another backup of your main database before the restore
