| Posted: | | | | Hi! I noticed i have checked 99% of my dvds as "hide from public and private viewing" is there a way thru bulkedit, or another tool to batch "uncheck at least the private view field??? OR do in need to do thru over a thousand dvds by hand? Thanks for any help with this! Then use Collection -> Flagged -> Set Exclusions and reset the options you want to | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | DJ Doena, Thanks for the help! I did not have the "exclusions" button, but once i figured out how to add it, it was easy to set things properly! Again Thanks for your kindness and help! Oh, If I can ask, is there a way to bulk add cast and crew and headshots to all the profiles i have that are missing them??..or do i need to edit each dvd 1 by 1?? | Posted: | | | | Since every profile is most likely to a different movie, I'm afraid there is no way to bulk-edit cast and crew. (Unless mediadogg's actual tool BulkEdit has some function to do it). | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

(Unless mediadogg's actual tool BulkEdit has some function to do it). Nooooo!!!! I have explicitly stayed away from that arena. Way beyond my pay grade! On the other hand, BulkEdit does attempt to import everything it finds in an XML Collection, including Cast and Crew. So, if anybody is comfortable editing raw XML and then feed it to BulkEdit, be my guest! I would highly recommend trying that in a clean, new database - not your main one. Hmm ... that would work for just about anything but head shots. However, you can load custom shots into the "Documents\DVD Profiler\CreditPhotos" folder under the appropriate profile ID folders and they should show up when you view Cast (just tested this, maybe this is not true). Not sure if that workaround is good for you. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! | Posted: | | | | I would consider adding to BulkEdit a bulk load of Cast / Crew Head Shots or Custom Head Shots. Of course these apply across all profiles. If you want profile-related shots, use the Gallery (Crew Photos) folders as I mentioned before. The BulkEdit feature I could add, would take an XML file that looks like this: Quote:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252"?> <!--BulkEdit Plugin for DVD Profiler Headshot Import--> <Headshots> <CastHeadShots> <HeadShot FirstName="" MiddleName="" LastName="" BirthYear="">imagepath</HeadShot> ... </CastHeadShots>
<CrewHeadShots> <HeadShot FirstName="" MiddleName="" LastName="" BirthYear="">imagepath</HeadShot> ... </CrewHeadShots>
<CastCustomHeadShots> <HeadShot Firstname="" MiddleName="" LastName="" BirthYear="">imagepath</HeadShot> ... </CastCustiomHeadShots>
<CrewCustomHeadShots> <HeadShot Firstname="" MiddleName="" LastName="" BirthYear="">imagepath</HeadShot> ... </CrewCustomHeadShots> </Headshots>
Any interest? Would some other developer prefer to do this? Also, it might be useful to have an external tool that allows easy creation and edit of the XML for submission to BulkEdit. (If not, I guess I could consider adding a simple GUI that collects the name info and imagepath, with a progress bar for tracking the status of the import). | | | Thanks for your support. | Posted: | | | | But wait ...
Regarding "bulk" editing of cast / crew images:
How would my proposed BulkEdit import be any better than simply using the Headshot Master DB?
Or creating a dummy profile and adding the cast and crew for which images you want to change?
Everything needed is already in DVDP and easy to use. Am I correct? | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |

| Posted: | | | | Mediadogg and Dj Doena, Thank you so much for the insights! It gives me ideas on what i can do with what limited knowledge I have, or where to focus to learn what I need to do it. I do like the idea of pasting .jpgs into the cast folders... i do believe there are some threads with people who have added zipped folders of cast jpegs. i did try the .dpb for the headshots, but could not figure how to get them into Profiler correctly. Just got an error when i tried to open them thru file /database. i am fairly new, but at least if i can get the headshots easily, i will go thru each dvd manually if needed to add cast/crew and covers where missing. Thank you both as well for the software/plugins you have created! :D Jeff | | | "The two most important days in your life are.............when you are born....and when you find out why." -Mark Twain- |

| Posted: | | | | You both deserve credit for all the help post and plugins! :D the .dpb headshots are not loading with an error to send to invelos. the first one loaded and i clicked next and i was set to load into the headshots with everything else unchecked. came back successful, but the other files arent working. are there .jpeg files somewhere to find? Then i could drop loads into the headshot folder. :D :D :D all the server and file sites seem ancient and the files are no longer there for .dpd headshots....
