A recent update that came up for the above title on a list of new profile changes in my collection included a rear cover image update that had a different UPC from the existing cover and profile. I didn't think this was allowed?

I know I one time submitted a rear cover for a disc that showed a different UPC from the profile (though everything else on the cover was identical), and it was rejected.

Is this an oversight, or is there a policy change?

In any case, I rejected the update and locked my existing images.

You have done the correct thing. Different UPC requires a new profile.

Well, I guess I'm done contributing any profiles or updates. We had this Elton John profile change that was approved that had a different UPC than the existing profile. Now I've had a contribution declined due to a birth year that I didn't even submit. Any birth year included came right out of the existing database when I typed that actor's name into the cast "find" field. I did not add anything.

So I'll just keep my updates to myself from now on, and lock down my local profiles so they're not mistakenly updated with bad info that gets approved by whatever mysterious being has the power over these things.
